Radiator replacement

I have a 2010 Hummer H3 3.7 5L, the factory radiator is busted. It has bad leaks at the seams where the plastic meets the aluminum. Currently trying to look for an upgraded replacement, maybe one that’s full aluminum. But not sure witch brand to go with. Any recommendations?

Speaking from personal experience, of years and years and years of radiator replacements, as soon as you go after market, remove the transmission from the radiator. Get yourself an oil cooler and mounted in front of the radiator. I’ve had three radiators in my lifetime that have failed, replaced with quality radiators, only to have the oil cooler leak and burn my transmission up

Im not a pro mechanic or nothing so this might be a dumb question. You think it’d be the same if the truck has a manual transmission?

If you have a manual transmission, then your not running through the radiator to cool it as far as I know anyways. strictly an automatic transmission thing

Even though it’s a bitch to get to, change your thermostat while you’re at it and be prepared for the longest coolant bleeding you’ve ever done.

I’d rather pull an engine than do that thermostat 🤣

I just installed a ECP radiator in mine. Super simple, 2x1" rows and no modifications needed. I still need to get my electric fan kit from pcmofnc so I can change the water pump and remove the mechanical fan.

Edit. The only install issue is that it comes with 5/8th by 18 internal flare bungs instead of factory quick disconnects and finding a suitable adapter that actually seals on the stock transmission lines is a pain. Dorman is junk, i ordered dewitts and gonna put them on tomorrow. The other option is to replace the whole tranmission lines with 3/8 flared ends that bolt onto this tranmission, too mich work when a 140$ radiator doesnt leak at the tranmission lines so finding a reputable adapter it is.

I also have an ecp radiator in my 00z28 and am very satisfied with fit and performance.
