Best audio drama from Star Wars so far. Absolutely loved everything about this. I didn’t even really care that much about lourna but now I love her
I also love that oppo rancicis gets more time in the sun!

Incredible from start to finish. Perhaps my favorite story from the era. Just about every character was memorable in some way.
A few thoughts immediately after "reading":
-
Master Rancisis' history with Lourna was a nice surprise -
Sskeer's struggles with the force continue to be an ominous slow burn. Anxious for him (and moreso for Keeve) -
The 2 Republic pilots were great -
Lourna's backstory was superb -
Lourna in beskar?! -
Andrick Keller is one of my favorite characters so far in the High Republic era -
I love Burryaga and nothing bad should ever happen to him -
Enjoyed Asgar Ro getting a bit more story fleshed out -
Fucking Zygerian's -
Pan Eyta actually dead? Probably... -
Interesting set up with internal struggle for Nihil leadership

Marc Thompson (Pan, Sskeer and Marchion) easily is the stand-out performance in this audio drama. The guy nailed all three voices so well, I thought they were all different actors.

Finally, we know the mystery of Asgar Ro's death. I am satisfied.

So, this audiodrama might be the best thing to come out from the High Republic era. It really fleshed out her character/Tempest and advanced the plot by leaps and bounds. All along, they were establishing a whole new cast of characters for her new Tempest and I had no idea. I thought they were just going to be throwaway characters from her past. But surprise! They're sticking around.
I'm guessing, at the end, the powerful thing Ro has is the Nightmare Conjunction.
All that said, I can't get over how the audiobooks/dramas keep pronouncing the names wrong. (Yes, wrong.) Did Disney contract with a company they can't get to conform? You'd think they would want uniformity. It's Mar-kee-on and Nye-al, not Mar-shee-on and Nye-hill.

I keep thinking about how Lourna has basically rewritten her personality to many times - she was this close to 'redeeming' herself, but the way she went from asking help to becoming a reborn leader sorta just makes me thinks she's pretty unhinged and I love her for it. Like, on surface level she's 'found' herself, but she also seems unstable because of that.

The mods didn't put a thread up, so I figured I would.
