dale mabry campus changes

hi guys. i’ve been taking my classes primarily online, but i wanted to take more in-person lectures for my last 2 semesters at hcc. mostly because my classes are getting harder, but i also wanted to meet people. i feel like the construction is gonna ruin the atmosphere of the campus and make parking a nightmare

what do you all plan on doing for spring? (online, different campus, deal with it…)

Recommendations for MAC1114 (Trigonometry)

Hi everyone,

I am looking for recommendations for a trigonometry professor next semester, preferably at the Dale Mabry campus.

Some things I look for in instructors are approachability, exams that are faithful to study guides/unit reviews, & teaching that is easy to follow.

I would appreciate anyone sharing their experiences with instructors they’ve had for the class that they’d recommend.

I’ve been told it’s easier than MAC1147, can anyone confirm?

How fast do microbiology classes fill up?

Hi! So I am technically enrolling as a first time student at HCC to finish up two classes: Microbiology lecture, and microbiology Lab. And since I am technically not as prioritized as previously (been enrolled) students. I don't get to sign up for classes cost effective by the date: October 26th. So I was wondering, is there a way to overcome this? Or if not, how fast do they often fill up? I am trying to take the lecture in person, and the lab on Thursday 2:25-4:45 pm, preferably with Shannon Moroney. Please someone lmk!! 😞

HCC students — any chill online professors who don't use Honorlock

Hey! I'm planning my Spring 2027 classes at Hillsborough Community College and was wondering if anyone has recommendations for online professors who are chill, understanding, and don't require Honorlock for exams.

The classes I'm planning to take online are:

  • ENC 1101 — English Composition I
  • MAC 1105 — College Algebra
  • BSC 2085 + BSC 2085L — Anatomy & Physiology I and lab
  • POS 2041 — American Government (or AMH 2010/2020)

I'm also considering HSC 1531 (Medical Terminology) for a future semester.

If you've taken any of these online, I'd really appreciate hearing which professors you'd recommend! I'm especially looking for classes with manageable workloads, fair grading, reasonable deadlines, and exams that don't use Honorlock or other invasive proctoring software.

I'm trying to keep my GPA high for the Radiography program, so any advice or professor recommendations would be super helpful. Thank you!!

HESI Fundamentals & Dosage Calculation Study Tips and Resources?

Hey everyone! :)

I'm currently in Level 2 and will be taking my HESI exams for Fundamentals of Nursing and Dosage Calculation in December. I'm hoping to get some advice from those who have already taken them! When I was preparing for the ATI TEAS, there were so many resources available, including study guides, practice questions, and clear outlines of what to expect. It made studying pretty straightforward. However, preparing for the HESI has been a completely different experience! I've searched for resources but haven't found much guidance on what to focus on. I've also looked through Sherpath and asked my professors, but unfortunately, they weren't able to recommend any additional resources.

For any upperclassmen who have already taken these exams, could you share what to expect, how you prepared, and what resources helped you the most?

Any advice, study tips, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Just trying to get a head start and prepare as best as I can.

Teacher's Names

This is a such stupid thing to complain about i know it is, but I want to say it.

It should be easier to find your professors name. Like why do I need to dig into workday or through a syllabus.

I spend one hour once and sometimes twice a week with the professor and you get the name once at the beginning and then you better remember it the rest of the semester. Theres not a ton of discussion in class where someone says their name either so I just gotta dig up the name again whenever I need to add it to a paper.

Idk, there's definitely ways to remember their names better and I know its dumb to complain about this but im writing a couple MLA papers and each subject gotta dig up their name again

Spring reg starts soon!

If you have time, I highly suggest that you go talk to the advisors about what classes to take before November because registration starts for fuse and other students on the 26th and then later on in November for everybody else, but if you know where to take you can pre-build your schedule and have a better chance of getting classes that you actually want with teachers you want

rad tech

has anyone done classes to go into being a radiography technologist? I’m just a bit confused. They have me going for my AA but radiology is under AS. Now i understand maybe because that’s for like becoming the actual thing, the radiologist who interprets the pictures but there’s nothing for radiology under AA and I have an appointment with an advisor to talk to them about it, but I just wanna know if anyone personally has went through this or is going through it so they know the steps to get to the path that they need to be on do they offer the programs here and then I can take the board exam or do I have to go to a actual radiography tech school after getting my AA or AS and prerequisite classes
