Experimental M1 Garand variants with plastic stocks: Development started in 1941. In trials, these stocks were deemed not suitable for field use. there was renewed interest in the early '50s, but was dropped after the M14 was adopted.

Where my $300 M92 ended up

Zastava PAP M92

A buddy of mine was getting stationed overseas and said he wanted to sell his AK47. I told him I'd take it sight unseen. When I bought it it was probably the ugliest AK I'd ever seen. Cheap black plastic handguard, the ugliest ar15 brace I think he could find, and the booster muzzle device which I'm personally not a fan of. He asked me for $300 for it. I was expecting $800+ so I gave him an extra hundred and he threw in 500rds of 556 he had laying around, so depending on how you do the math it might be I paid even less than $300 for it.

I immediately started modifying it. Cnc warrior brace came first, though I wish I hadn't opted for the picatinny mount. Then I changed the muzzle device out for the eclipse flash hider from manticore arms. Ordered a wooden pistol grip online and sanded it and the original mismatched wood handguard down and refinished those to match. Added the kns adjustable piston and decided I wanted to suppress it. Got the primary arms slx md25 gen2 red dot for it then bought a dead air nomad 30 suppressor which I mounted with the rearden cyka muzzle device and rearden atlas xl hub mount. Threw a Vickers SMG sling on it and I think it's finally finished.

When I went to buy it I had a ZPAP M70 in my head and if I'm being honest was disappointed by this in it's first form. I still want an m70 but I love this thing now and for an appropriately $300 initial investment I couldn't be much happier.

20 Consecutive-Serial Detonics Pistols — 4 Calibers, 5 Models, Original Factory Display

Not something you see every day: a complete 20-pistol Detonics collection with consecutive serial numbers T40231–T40250, arranged in a remarkable 4-caliber × 5-model matrix.

The collection includes 9mm, .38 Super, .45 ACP, and .451 Detonics Magnum, with five configurations represented in each caliber: Mark I, II, V, VI, and VII.

Even more interesting, all 20 pistols retain their original serial-matching factory boxes, along with a tiered plexiglass presentation display.

Detonics was a pioneer of compact 1911-style pistols, and seeing this many variations together—especially with consecutive serial numbers—is extraordinary.
