121

u/Cigarsnguns Jan 17 '23

Looks like a regular Tuesday in Chicago to me

71

u/Crusheddeer1 Jan 17 '23

That looks like its just his boot.

105

u/Hewlett-PackHard Jan 17 '23

May or may not still contain foot.

41

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '23

Shrödinger's boot

15

u/[deleted] Jan 19 '23

We have no idea if there is a foot in the boot until we check

2

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '23

Probably his skin too

24

u/hipshot1126 Jan 17 '23

"But you ain't got no legs, Lieutenant Dan."

8

u/Earlfillmore Jun 15 '23

3

u/Obvious_Bandicoot631 Jun 15 '23

This gif is the best and worst comment I’ve ever seen!!

15

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '23

Holy shit I think so.

5

u/Fit-Paper-797 Jan 17 '23

I think it was a boot or something like that

5

u/Comorcus Jan 17 '23

Shin guard most likely.

4

u/gjmassey Mar 07 '23

It was his pads

192

u/ComradeKilla Jan 17 '23

If COD taught me anything it's that riot shields can stop anything, even the gatling of a harrier jump jet.

49

u/Just_A_Mad_Scientist Jan 17 '23

Don't worry kids, the rockets designed to go through tanks, the average anti-material rifle, and the average gunship cannon can all be blocked by a flimsy peice of metal" - COD devs probably

15

u/Kross_887 Jan 18 '23

The one in the OG MW2 was even worse, it was just plexiglass.

5

u/CT_08222 Jun 25 '23

It’s never made of plexiglass, irl they are a compound of different clear material to make a bulletproof glass-plastic-other shit shield.

1

u/CT_08222 Jun 25 '23

That is not a flimsy piece of metal, it’s a mixture of Kevlar fibers, ceramic, and other materials, steel is only a small portion of it.

And some shields can really stop the 50. BMG cartridge, I think one managed to stop the 20mm cannon round.

(Used on the harrier if I am correct, however it would be API from a jet, the test was done with FMJs)

Thats a real horrifying bruh, moment. If he had stayed in formation he might have been hurt but probably didn’t have to lose his leg and maybe die.

39

u/goalieman04 Jan 17 '23

He ended up living and keeping both his legs

8

u/gjmassey Mar 07 '23

The thing that flew was his pads

5

u/Zona_Asier May 17 '23

And all of his buddies who got hurt because of the him shaped whole in the wall.

-43

u/WokeWaco Jan 17 '23

Are you defending the authoritarian?

63

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '23

What kind of woke "gotchya" question is that? Grenades are horrifying implements of destruction regardless of who they are tearing apart. Period. Per another commenter the dude survived with both legs so that's interesting. I am a US Citizen who has never even left the country. I'm not going to sit behind a keyboard and pretend to know anything about this conflict on the other side of the planet. I believe all peoples have the inherent God given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. But, this is their fight, not mine. It doesn't change my analysis.

24

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '23

Based

3

u/omnitronan Jan 17 '23

Until they infringe upon that right of others by becoming the boot of the state.

1

u/GingerShrimp40 Jun 09 '23

7

3

3

u/WokeWaco Jan 17 '23

Back in service? He didn’t learn his lesson?

5

u/Comorcus Jan 17 '23

Lmao, He got promoted for this stunt and from the last news about him they still call him by his rank so he probably still stick around.

2

u/manufurz Mar 15 '23

Please stfu

1

u/WokeWaco Mar 15 '23

Full recovery. Kept both legs and balls.

10

u/Comorcus Jan 17 '23

From News pic when Prime Minister visit him, his leg look fucked but still have foot and 3 toe gone

57

u/BasqueCO Jan 17 '23

That damn tactical "Good Idea Fairy" just cost that dude his leg if not his life.

43

u/Hewlett-PackHard Jan 17 '23

Not to mention anyone else in the shrapnel radius who wasn't protected by his shield being in place. He fucked his whole squad, not just himself.

4

u/gjmassey Mar 07 '23

It was his pads, not leg

1

u/CT_08222 Jun 25 '23

He made a Full recovery

22

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '23

MY LEG!!!

9

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '23

Was he trying to kick it?

36

u/Njerhul Jan 17 '23

No, he just felt the sudden urge to bust a move and couldn’t fight it.

13

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '23

Damn intrusive thoughts

9

u/dank_doge11111 Jan 17 '23

you made a serious fucky wucky, time to step into the forever box. or crawl cuz there ain't no fuckin way you got legs anymore.

2

u/CT_08222 Jun 25 '23

He does, he made a full recovery actually.

Modern equipment is a real godsend

6

u/Captain_Prices_Cigar Jan 17 '23

The fucking "BONK" against the shield lol

2

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '23

Are snuff films allowed on reddit

2

u/gjmassey Mar 07 '23

It wasn’t his leg, it was his pads that flew

2

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '23

Too many movies not enough training

2

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '23

That was brave of him trying to kick it

2

u/Mercari_cryptic_2 Apr 21 '23

Hey hey hey hey!!

2

u/cheekclapper93 May 16 '23

I guarantee you there was still some foot in that boot

1

u/CT_08222 Jun 25 '23

No, he has all but three toes.

He made a full recovery, with all three legs, both feet, and two big steel balls

1

u/cheekclapper93 Jun 25 '23

That's crazy

2

u/Jertsu09 May 28 '23

Why he waited for like 2 seconds?

2

u/Mean_Description_611 May 30 '23

How I became Lt. Dan

2

u/silvrrubi592a Jun 22 '23

1

u/yiff_puppy May 23 '23

1

u/cheekclapper93 Jun 03 '23

Oldest blunder in the book bringing Shields to a grenade fight

1

u/WokeWaco Jan 17 '23

This made my day thank you

-17

u/Zp00nZ Jan 17 '23

I know y’all be talking about him being alive but no, while fragmentation grenades are know for their ability to fragment and send those fragments into soft tissue, they gain the ability to fragment in the first place due to an explosion which creates a very powerful and violent shockwave, maybe less than a offensive grenade however have a shockwave nonetheless, the guy just felt that shit pass through his leg into one of the biggest blood vessels in his body, he is for sure dead.

4

u/Andrew2033 Jan 17 '23

Good sir this is an old video, we already know the outcome. Dude lived and is still in service

-3

u/Zp00nZ Jan 17 '23

That went over y’all’s heads hu?

-39

u/DestroyerNET123 Jan 17 '23

Two questions: 1: How did the rioters obtain an M67? 2: Where is this taking place (my money is on Chicago or deep South)?

51

u/KingBenjamin97 Jan 17 '23

Well the flag behind them is from Thailand and the writing on the shields (aside from the word “police”) sure isn’t English so like you’re probably a fair bit off there bud

34

u/Cigarsnguns Jan 17 '23

Yea something tells me if this had happened in the US the news / liberals would be screaming about banning boom potatos

9

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '23

Chicago? 💀

5

u/WokeWaco Jan 17 '23

You realize there are other countries outside the US right?

2

u/KuterHD Apr 20 '23

Im German and I would’ve guessed the same thing.
