Thinking about starting this army!

Hello fellow brothers. I always loved grey knights lore wise, probably one of the coolest factions imo lore wise, I have been a Tyranid player for the last two years and I thought it was time to give a shot to another army, and obviosly Grey Knights was the first one that come to my mind, now the question is:

The combat patrol is a good starting point? Model wise they are all cool af, so for me is a yes without taking into account the meta relevancy, aldo I would love to know any tips about conversions or maybe magnetizacions I should be aware off when getting new models, overall terminators are my fav mini and most likely would be buying some extra of them!

The combat patrol is decent, the only real bad model in it is the Dreadnought. If you can, it’s typically best to try and find one of the old Combat Patrols with the Dreadknight and Librarian, or the Santic Conclave box.

I’d very much recommend magnetizing them. Since we’re an elite army we tend to have high costs per unit which means even a slight point increase can drastically change lists, so it’s good to have them magnetized.

Power armor units such as the strikes, purifiers, purgation, and interceptors can all be run as each other with very little effort. The only real difference between any of them are that Interceptors have a different power pack on their back, and that Purifiers typically have white helmets.

Same with Terminators. Both they can paladins can be swapped between each other. The only real difference is Paladins have a slightly different helmet (which honestly isn’t necessary to distinguish them), and a bookstand on their back which can easily be magnetized and swapped at will.

Personally, I don’t run my power armor units with heavy weapons, I prefer the Force Weapons and storm bolters. I also barely run Terminators as I prefer Paladins. For either, I magnetize the arms to switch out weapons. For Paladins, I also magnetize them to swap out apothecary and the ancient banner
