Hey all, feel free to join the discussion on our favorite emerald archer. We will be hosting monthly discussions on the current ongoing, as well as other server events in the future. If you're a fan of the character in any capacity, whether it be comics, animation, or the Arrow tv show, why not join in?

The server isn't incredibly sophisticated at the moment, but we promise that we'll be putting more time, and potentially money, keeping in line with member activity.

Discussion Disliked traits

Post image

So I’m going to ask as many superhero fanbases as I can this question. What are some traits about this hero that you hate, dislike or despise? Anywhere from a mild annoyance to a trait that would make you dislike any other character. I’m not talking about a way one writer in particular wrote them, or a time they were out of character or mishandled, I mean a reoccurring trait this character has.

Discussion Which comics are essential/best to get into Roy Harper?

I’ve been watching Young Justice, and I’ve seen Arrow, and I know they aren’t super similar to the comics, Roy is still my favorite character on both shows, and I want a better feel of his real character in the comics.

Discussion Which Green Arrow runs to read after Year One?

It has been a long time coming but a few months ago I (39m) finally got into comics as a life long reader of (non comic) books. I’ve read only a few so far trying different types from Batman Year One to Daytripper to V for Vendetta and it’s been fun. I just recently read Green Arrow Year One (I knew nothing about this character and never saw the show) because I saw a comment about it and had a lot of fun.

I’m sure I’ll be back soon asking about comics outside of super hero types or for other characters like Batman, but I’m curious what would be some good Green Arrow comic runs that I should read next (or next few)? Action is fun but I love a good story, political intrigue, anti capitalism, introspection, etc. too!

Open to any and all suggestions!

Discussion What makes a green arrow story a green arrow one?

I hope this doesn't sound like a silly question, but i want to get into green arrow but like what makes a green arrow story a green arrow story, like what are the core ideas?

Like Batman is more detective focused

Superman is about saving people and the focus is not him being put in danger.

Flash is about science and using speed in weird ways to stop villains.

(I know these are kinda shaky examples and go for their older stories much more than modern)

So like what's Green Arrow's jist?

Can he make Gotham a better CITY than Batman can? Can he beat all of Batman’s villains and hand them over to the GCPD or throw them into Arkham?

Discussion Decided to reread "Rise of Arsenal". I don't get how it won an award

According to sources, it won a PRISM Award in 2011. It was honored by the Entertainment Industries Council under the comic book category for its accurate portrayal of substance abuse, mental illness, and drug addiction.

Uh... I am missing where it is remotely accurate.

It treats heroin like a hallucinogen and an upper. Heroin is a downer-- a opioid depressant. You don't see things on it.

You know what was a good comic about drug addiction? Rose's arc from Teen Titans. Her drug of choice may seem silly, but it was done way better than Roy's in ROA.
