New build need lotsa grass!
I am building a new home on one acre that has previously been a hayfield for years. It will be graded and topsoil spread. I am in charge of seeding it.
Southeast PA
No trees on the lot. It will be wide open sun other than the house shadow.
I do not care about pristine grass whatsoever. I just need something that will take root and not be too finicky or expensive to buy or plant/start.
Build is estimated to finish mid February.
What would the best type of grass be?
How much seed for one acre wide open ?
Who are some reputable vendors/best time to buy?
Best time to plant?
We have 4wheelers and ATVs that we can hook seed spreaders up to. And straw to spread.
Yes I could Google or AI it but I don’t trust that.
Thanks for any opinions!!

support your local cooperative
if you have a local cooperative use their brand of 30-0-4 and save money over LCN double dark and milorganite. this is 2 weeks application and no rain since application [it rained the next day after applying which is why I did it then.]

What kind of grass? I'm in zone 8a north ga wooded area.
This is native to my wooded area but I like it's softness and want to get seed to cover some barren areas. But I don't want to introduce something invasive. Thanks.

Grass for shady area under children's swing
Hi all,
I have an issue with grass growth under children's swing and hope, that you have some ideas for solutions.
I have grass in shade, between high fence and north side of house under 100yo tree. Middle Europe.
Since this is not bad enough, because grass mixture for shade grows beautifully, i hung a swing on the branch, and children have obliterated the grass under it. I kind of expected it, but hoped for the best
Is there any grass type, that loves to be trampled to death once or twice a week?
Maybe anything else, that is suitable for walking on barefoot?
Thanks for any and all help!

Seeking Grass Advice
galleryOur back yard used to be plush and amazing but is currently struggling. I plan on picking out the weeds that have taken over the brown patches but am having trouble getting the grass to grow back.
I believe it may have been over fertilized earlier this spring, I tried raking it out and giving it extra water after the fact.
Looking for help figuring out the next step!
