I love the speech Juan gave to the team. The team doesn’t depend on any one [player], they depend on everyone.

Boston was so close right at the end too.
I’m trying to decide if we should blame Kelley O’Hara for saying she wanted the shield race to go down to decision day. I hope she’s enjoying this because I’m not.

I’m blaming Gift Monday for having a 1v1 with the keeper and putting her foot on top of the ball. 🫠

Gift Monday remembered how much she hates Gotham as a former Spirit player, forgot she played for Boston and decided not to help Gotham 😂

We can beat Utah if we are in TopForm however there’s so many injuries who the heck knows. And Kerr went down today and was taken out so who freaking knows.

Was she taken out? I thought she stayed in?

It was in like the last minute or 2 of play. Really hard to know. The game was basically over.

Silly question how do they decide where the actual shield will be when it’s this close?

If I’ve read things right, outside of a GFC win or tie, SD has to win and must do it by 2 or more goals to take the shield. So GFC controls their own destiny in this case.

Not quite. We win or tie, and the shield is ours. If we lose, then a SD win gives them the shield on goal differential, even if it’s a 1-goal win. Our GD would go down by at least 1 in a loss, and theirs would go up by at least 1 in a win.

We only need a tie next weekend against playoff Utah. But SD has a much easier opponent in Bay.
