Track Who says a Golf R can't off-road?
I just need to learn that the throttle isn't an on/off switch 😅
Has anyone done a full rally spec build?

Put on a new intake on mt 24R about 3 months ago. A few days ago no no boost over 13psi according to the dash. Drove it to the dealership to have them take a look.they said I looked like something was sucked into the turbo. 5k to replace. Stock intake going back on. Should I be worried about engine damage?
Hey everyone,
Curious to hear how you guys handle your drive modes on the MK8.5 R, especially depending on your odometer reading.
Do you switch straight to Sport mode right after firing it up, or do you strictly wait in Comfort until oil temps reach operating temperature (~80°C / 180°F)?
Also, does your approach change based on mileage?
Low mileage / Break-in: Keeping it strictly in Comfort, low revs, and no Sport mode until the break-in period is done and oil is hot?
Higher mileage: Going straight into Sport mode from the start, or still waiting for proper oil temps first?
On one hand, driving in Sport right from the start feels great, but the higher revs and shift points on cold oil make me hesitate.
How do you guys approach this? Straight to Sport mode or Comfort warm-up first?

Looking at doing my haldex service along with DSG on my 2020 mk7.5 golf r, my question is has anyone used Ravanol AWD-H liquid on the haldex? I’ve ordered this and now reconsidering it and wonder if I should go with OEM as I’ve ordered an OEM kit for the dsg, thanks.

Just wanted to stop in and announce that after a year, I finally fixed the problem with my new at the time 24s navigation being hundreds of miles inaccurate, SOS not working, and carnet not working. Had really been lagging with fixing it since it was the really much of an issue aside from the no data in the area available ding, and since the 2yr warranty was coming up next year decided nows the time! Took the car into the dealer for an oil change and to have them inspected the nav issues and such, took all day btw. They tried to do the BS diagnostic fee but had to remind them its under warranty and so avoided that! But issue they found was the SOS module shorted/burnt out. Since they didn't have the part in stock, I had to make another appointment to drop it off all day, and was hesitant that the new module would fix the issue but it worked, and man did I miss the HUD with navigation! Even finally got a software update notification that I never once got when I got the car. So heads up for anyone still dealing with this issue, it may be that SOS module.

Before I put her away for the winter.
Before I put the winter set on and continue giving her the business.

What’s the experience from a car like this in terms of reliability and mechanical saftey. Im in the market for a new car to use in winter and saw a mk7 estate with a stage 3 tune and modifications. The car has received a number of different upgrades from Dahlbäck Racing where everything has been done to maximize the performance of the car. Upgraded with, among other things, TTE 525 Turbo, Wagner Intercooler, Milltek Sport exhaust system with downpipe, Autotech upgraded high-pressure pump, HR-Springs and Optimized engine & gearbox. Dahlbäck is probably one of the most respected and trusted brands when it comes to work like this on vag cars in Sweden. All I’m wondering tho is this something reliable to use on a daily basis? I understand that it will need extra maintenance tighter oil changes etc. But does a 500 hp golf r hold? The car has basically been tuned and modded since it basically was new with 40k km until now it’s sitting at 100k kms. Any answers will be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

Hey Y’all,
Kind of a different question for you commuters.
I have a good 120 mile commute. I want an R bad.
But hours a day on the road means I need this to be a commuting car. I don’t want a self driving Tesla. My other cars are all V8 and horrible on gas. The R is not while potentially being just as fun.
So be honest with me. How is the driving assist VW has on them? I’ve used Teslas and Hyundais for reference.

Hey all, who do you trust in NYC or Long Island to install lowering springs on a MK8/8.5? I watched some videos about installing them, and as soon as I saw the guy work on the fronts I immediately knew I did NOT want that smoke. Probably going to have them throw on an RSB while they’re in there.
Also, side questions for conversation - how do you guys feel about the Neuspeed sofsport springs? Trying to keep DCC, is that calibration something the suspension shop will do or is that a dealership service center day?
Thank you!!
