Looking for Gift Ideas Gift ideas for my gifted, autistic, extremely nerdy almost-11-year-old? Sharing my current list and looking for more unusual finds!

I am 34F, a single gamer mom who shares many special interests with my son. I feel like the 10-11 yo age range is especially hard to buy for, and that most guides for boys this age skew towards sports. This post is both a list of things I’ve already purchased and a request for more ideas.

My son is 10, turning 11, gifted, on the autism spectrum, and an absolutely delightful little nerd. I’m putting together his birthday and Christmas gifts, and I’d love recommendations from people who share his interests or have similarly nerdy kids.

He’s particularly obsessed with The Legend of Zelda, Stardew Valley, Pokémon, Steven Universe, Studio Ghibli, Spy × Family, Delicious in Dungeon, Minecraft, Kirby, Astrobot, cats in general, and Slime Rancher.

He’s intellectually curious, loves immersive fictional worlds, and gets incredibly excited about the little details of his favorite franchises.

I am very lucky to be able to go big at his birthday (end of Nov) and Christmas.

Here’s what I’ve already purchased:
-custom Hestu plush commission
-Mineru Construct amiibo
-LoZ Ocarina of Time amiibo
-Minecraft cat light
-Breath of the Wild treasure chest light
-Steven Universe jacket
-Slime Rancher collectibles from Youtooz
-Zelda-themed Pro Controller
-Electronic ocarina
-Korok plush
- Hestu and Korok embroidered sweatshirt
-LEGO final battle set between Link and Ganondorf
-Video game soundtrack vinyl records from Astrobot, Slime Rancher, Hollow Knight, Little Kitty Big City

I’m looking for recommendations that go beyond the obvious merchandise.

Think obscure collectibles, Japanese imports, beautiful art books, artisan-made fandom items, elaborate building sets, interesting electronics, unusual musical instruments, intricate puzzles, or anything that would absolutely blow the mind of a nerdy 11-year-old.

I’m especially interested in items that feel special, beautifully crafted, or difficult to find. I love supporting independent artists and small creators, too.

Budget is extremely flexible**.** I’m not particularly concerned about the price of individual gifts, provided they’re genuinely worthwhile. I’m much more interested in finding extraordinary things than accumulating a mountain of generic merchandise.

I’m also very open to introducing him to entirely new hobbies, franchises, and interests that might appeal to a bright, imaginative kid who loves fantasy, gaming, and worldbuilding.
If you were this kid, what would be on your ultimate birthday or Christmas wishlist?

I’d especially love suggestions from adult Zelda fans, collectors, fellow autistic nerds, and parents of gifted kids who might know about some hidden gems I’ve overlooked!

Edited: I am very much not interested in gift ideas via DM. Comment or don’t engage. I’ll block anyone who tries to DM me.

Looking for Gift Ideas Gift ideas for the one who has it all

And I mean all.
MIL is quite the shopper. I’m talking multiple packages daily from websites like Amazon, Temu, whatever she can get her hands on. She doesn’t remember what she even bought half the time.
She has more clothes and shoes than anyone I’ve ever met. Spends an obscene amount of money on beauty products and self care items.
I’m at a total loss what to get this woman for any occasion. Typically do something like a framed photo or something for the house but every time I go to the house it’s replaced with something new so looking for something different.
Unfortunately she’s just one of those people who replaces everything all the time so whatever is bought likely would be used short term and not long term.
She does have a new grandson from my husband and I as of about 6 months ago so thinking maybe relating to him somehow? Any ideas?

Looking for Gift Ideas What makes a good gift for someone who doesn’t want more stuff?

I’ve been thinking about how tricky it can be to choose a gift for someone who already has what they need, or simply doesn’t like collecting more things.

I like the idea of giving something small and personal, but I also wonder when an experience or a handwritten note might mean more.

What’s a gift you’ve given or received that felt thoughtful without adding clutter? I’d love to hear what made it work for that person.

Looking for Gift Ideas Work Secret Santa $30 AUD limit

I've been assigned a colleague who recently shifted from permanent to casual, so I rarely work with her these days. She's a mother of two (twins) one of whom has cerebral palsy and autism. She's a very hard worker, lives on a small hobby farm, and her favourite animal is the goose. I know she likes letting her hair down away from the kids, but rarely gets a moment to herself. Our hectic workplace is her "quiet time" which was honestly an eye opener for me

Ladies, what's a good bday gift para sa nililigawan?

Please help a guy out.

I am currently dating someone whose going to have her birthday soon. She's in her late 20's. Basically, she has everything she needs. She's very independent. We don't see each other often, because of the distance since we live far apart but we keep the communication constant. I'm sure we'll be meeting before her birthday, and I really want to give her something that she can use or keep.

She's a girly girl but is not really into make up stuff (so make up is off the list). She's into skin care but I don't know what she uses. She likes wearing necklaces, bracelets and earrings. She likes bags too. She's also very artsy and loves to read books (thriller, romance, smut). I think she read almost all the famous books that I know of.

Her birthday is quite near and I'm already panicking. I really like this girl and want to make her birthday memorable.

Gift Showcase Fun way to suprise your partner— teenager love

Wanted to showcase yall this gift I made for my twinky bf three years ago.

I was like 14 when I found this earring, was like 16€ I think. I horded it from july to march for my partner’s birthday. It didn’t come in any cute box, so I took some old box I had laying around, covered it with this cute fabric with only glue, made the bumpy edges and lace and the bow!

I painted the whole box first white, then I added wool and the fabric I glued to the bottom to give the earring that soft pillow! Cut few holes for the earring to hang nicely. They absolutely loved it, especially because they had been thinking of getting a piercing for their upper ear, so with this they could test out how they would look like with a helix piercing!!

Sometimes it’s the small things that can make your partner happy🫶💕💕

Looking for Gift Ideas Shopping for my wife..

Every year I struggle to find my wife (30) Christmas gifts as she is the type of person to buy something if she wants it. Therefore, anything she wants, she’s already got it.

Christmas and gifting giving has always been a big deal for myself and my family, as we don’t buy just to buy. I enjoy buying gifts that I believe my wife would love and get use out of.

She’s a “trendy” type, enjoys makeup, the gym, spending time with our 1 year old. Any help would be great as I struggle for ideas.

What gift can I get for my far-right uncle for Christmas to ragebait him?

He has very far-right views so I think it would be funny to really annoy him. Any ridiculous ideas would be greatly appreciate because I have no idea what to get him so I thought the great people of Reddit would know.

(thanks for the suggestions- I will be donating money in his name to a left-wing organisation and hopefully will get a certificate framed and printed or something)

Gift idea for friend I haven’t seen in years?

Hi! I’m meeting with a friend I haven’t seen in over 2 years. In that time she’s gotten married and bought a house. I wasn’t at the wedding so I didn’t gift then, but I am not wanting to show up to her house empty handed since I haven’t seen her in so long! Wine normally would be my go to, but not sure it fits the occasion, looking for other ideas? Was thinking a Christmas ornament or something like that, even a picture frame? Something small but meaningful? Please give me ideas :)

Looking for Gift Ideas What should I get my husband for our first anniversary?

Hi, I am searching for good gifts for my husband for our first anniversary.
I would love to know what men really want.
He is pretty low maintenance.
He doesn’t wear watches or any accessories.
I already got him perfumes, good belts, wallets and clothes.

I am considering getting him multiple small gifts like caps or wireless powerbanks, like stuff making his everyday life easier.

Or are there any suggestions for single bigger gifts?

I have budget of around 50k.
I am actually planning for a trip for his birthday in next 3 months, should I get a better gift then and decrease my budget now.
Any good suggestions would be of great help! Thank youu!

Looking for Gift Ideas What's a good gift idea for middle-aged men or blue collar workers?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello! So my family has been participating in "secret santa" for 3 years now and this year I have to find a gift for my uncle. He's a 47 year-old blue collar worker and I have no clue what to get him. His job is his life so if I try to get him something like nice shoes or hoodies he just ends up using them at work and getting them scuffed or messed up with paint and tears. When he's at home (he lives with my family) he just takes naps and watches shows on Netflix. He doesn't have some obvious interest he talks about but I still want to try and get him something nice or something personalized! Are there any unexpectedly useful items or unsung lifesavers I can get him? Guys I'm a teenage girl so I'm a little lost here lol.

Looking for Gift Ideas They want to know “time was spent on them”. Ideas?

It’s regarding a christmas gift for woman later 30s. They like: their dog, nature, crafts, cute things.

Their love language is quality time and I think they want to know that I spent time thinking about them regarding the gift 🤔

They already have a lot of stuff they buy for themself and so it’s difficult just buying something I think they’d like.

Gifting an experience together would be difficult because they have a busy schedule and struggle with fatigue.

They once gave me a gift where they had spent some time putting some elements together, so maybe that is a clue to what they’d aprecciate.

Maybe something handmade? Allthough I don’t have any knitting skills etc 😅

They‘re not into perfume, makeup, fashion etc.

Any ideas welcome!

Christmas present for bf ideas

Hii. I'm looking for a Christmas present for my bf. He's 34 and the budget is set for £200

He said himself to me that people aren't good at getting him gifts and I'm trying so hard to get something he would actually enjoy.

He loves film, board games - he's very specific about which ones. It's about the art and storytelling but not too heavy. He is a philosophy buff and loves to read non-fiction. He likes music and discovering new artists so I have gotten us sofar sounds tickets in our city. He's an absolute foodie and loves to cook, and is all about the flavours and the science behind cooking. He's also an adventurous traveller so will always take a cooking class in whichever country he's in. I looked at cooking classes around the area but they're a bit basic and a fancy dinner isn't really his thing so a tasting menu or something wouldn't feel special. It's our first Christmas together and I know he's going to get me something amazing so I want to do the same.

I don't want anything gimmicky or overly masculine you know? Any help would be massively appreciated ❤️

Gift for Nephew- Annual Tradition

When our niece was born, we decided to gift her a pandora charm bracelet and one charm for her 1st Christmas. Every Christmas since, we've gifted her a new charm and a card explaining why we choose the charm we did. Mom and Dad are keeping them in their safe until her 18th Christmas when she'll get her final charm from us.

We now have a new nephew. We'd love to start this tradition with him, but we're stumped on what to give. We thought about a Lionel train car every year so he has a full train, but that will get to be a lot for mom and dad to store over the years. We also thought about gifting a tool every year so he'll have a full tool set.

What are some ideas you have for us? We'd like to spend around the same each year as a charm ($30-60) and don't want the items to be too large so it's not a burden on their parents.

Looking for Gift Ideas Looking for a perfume similar to this for my mother <3

I'm not into perfume really at all. If something smells nice, I buy it, thats about it lol

Christmas is coming up, and this is one of my mothers favourite perfumes. We've been rekindling our relationship and I'd like to get her something nice. I'm not sure if this is discontinued or something, but I could only find the product if it was over £100, which is way out of my budget.

Id really appreciate if anyone knew any good similae perfumes!!

Thank you!

The perfume, if you cannot see the bottle, is the Good Girl by Carolina Herrera, I think New York? Completely black heel bottle, gold heel part.

Some gifts I loved and received at my baby shower that weren't in my registry

Hi guys, our baby shower was last week and we've been setting up the gifts we received since then. We had a suite simple registry but our family and friends gave us some extra gifts that weren't in the registry and we loved some of the stuff for them a lot! So I thought to share them here for others to take inspiration from!

First gift I loved are the homemade meal preps my sis in law made for us cuz she knows us so well!! My partner won't be able to cook proper meals after working late shifts and I'll be too busy with the baby, so these meal preps are frozen for us so we can just put them in a pot or microwave and enjoy.

Another gift we love is what my mom's bestie got me. A temperature-controlled mattress cover from ovel that I can use for hot flashes during my final trimester and for any night chills I could get after my c-sec. I haven't set it up yet but she said it also has different temperature settings for the upper and lower body so I can use it for sore legs postpartum too!.

But!!! My favorite gift has to be the huge bulk supply of wet wipes suitable for sensitive skin!! My coworker got them for me as she gave had a baby 3 yrs ago and swore I'd think of her every time I reach for them and they'll just never end and I wont have to worry about them lol. I've put the carton in a conrer of our nursery. Its so huge!

Pls share if you guys got any such surprise gifts that you loved so others can take inspo and gift them, or put items they'd like to have on the registry as well!

Newborn-related gifts for family

I’m hoping to incorporate our newborn infant into Christmas gifts this year for 10+ family members.

Any ideas on something meaningful and relatively inexpensive that I can make or buy for many family members?

gifts for loyal customers, question about necklaces?

age: 30-40's, budget: $10 to $20, occasion: holiday gift for loyal customers.

I am getting ready to place a wholesale order for necklaces and I am stuck on what the length of the chain should be. We are getting wholesale amounts for a holiday gift give away to loyal customers. I was wondering if most women have the necklace sit on the collarbone or do they like it longer. I am also wondering if I am buying inventory to sell to a general audience how do I figure what the length should be, should I get a mix of different lenghts but how will I figure out which length to give to who? Maybe there is a length that falls between short and long?

I don't want to end up with inventory that doesn't sell because the chains are too short or too long. For those of you who sell jewelry, do you base your orders on customer preferences, current trends, or what's selling best? I'd appreciate any advice before placing my order.

Looking for Gift Ideas Looking for a practical gift for a 1 year old

My friend’s daughter is turning one and I want to get her a practical gift. I asked my friend and his wife if they had ideas and they don’t know.

I am not a parent. As far as I know, she can stand up but is not walking yet.

Budget of around $60 USD (100$ CAD)
