Is it okay to apply for more than one role at the same company?

• Upvotes

I keep seeing different opinions on this.

If a company has 2–3 open positions that genuinely match your experience, is it better to apply for all of them or pick just one?

Does applying to multiple roles make you look unfocused, or does it actually increase your chances of finding the right fit?

Curious what people here have experienced.

Need help! Dilemma of address

Thumbnail
• Upvotes

I have been recently offered a working student position in Berlin. My permanent registered address is 2 hrs away from Berlin and I have taken a sublet near Berlin for now(where I don’t have my Name plate or proof of address).
While filling the payroll documentation (post contract) the document asks for address in two fields:
1. “Address during the period of employment”
2. “Address after the period of employment”.

I am confused whether I can fill in my permanent (registered) address in both fields or should I fill in the sublet address in field 1. The problem is that I can’t receive (if) any letters sent to the sublet address.

So, I want to know if the company has any objections if I fill-in my permanent address (which is technically far from job location) in both the fields.

It career help

Hi everyone, this is my first post on Reddit but I truly need help with this.

I’m 24 years old and finished my internshipfrom Stanford university where I learn a lot of the basics of IT support but also accepted a lot of extra work and i hosted alot of meetings.
I wanted to get a role that still makes me have an outside life ,able to do it remote and transferable skills.

I’ve been applying for 3 months back and finally heard from these 4 jobs.

1.Door dash robot operator specialist $30hr
2.Dental it support(they sell xray equipment )$25-30 they loved my background at Stanford and they wanted me to meet the manager for a possible higher role
3.tesla robot data collector $22-45
4. Confidential* (it support) $35 3 month contract

I did take the door dash offer and it’s my 2nd day here but I feel lost. I have to ride a ebike during the day or night following a robot I deployed, the robot mostly moves its self but the second it fails I step in and basically put a ticket.

I don’t see how I can benefit from this job aside from $30 an hour but I also don’t see the actual benefits being good at all, working all the time including holidays, being outside in harsh conditions and not trouble shooting.

I won’t quit till I have something else lined but what do you guys think I should do ?

Teen interview

Hello!! I'm new to this, but I'm 16 and just had my interview at ulta. On my end, it went well. This is my first job and I put that on my resume, so my manager is aware. The interview was only about 10 minutes, the manager was very engaged and had positive body language, and overall, talking to her was easy. She only asked 3 questions: why I want to work at ulta, to give an example of me working well in a fast paced environment, and to explain a difficult situation and how I overcame it (Ill tell my answers in the comments if you ask). Overall, the vibe was very positive and at the end I asked if there was anything I should learn before the job, if I get it, and she said no because she could tell I was already pretty knowledgeable. I also have an orchestra concert December 10 and told her that ill need that day off in the interview, and she was writing that down along with a lot of other stuff. Is this a good sign?? She'll get back with me Friday, but I definitely wanna hear from others on if this seems good. Please give advice and opinions! I'd love to hear! Thank you!!

SIDE NOTE: The manager said that they have "a few other interviews to go through". Is this bad?? I'm so sorry I'm just an over thinking teenager.

EPA timeline please help spiraling

I interviewed twice for an EPA position, with my second interview on September 25. After not hearing back, I emailed two of my interviewers, and both responded. I was told that the recruiter was still working through paperwork related to next steps and that the hiring process was long and complex. I was also told I might hear something in a few more weeks, but that was speculative.
It has been about a month since my second interview, and I still haven't received an offer or been asked for references. My USAJOBS status showed that I was tentatively eligible and referred to the hiring manager. I'm trying to figure out whether I'm still a serious candidate or if I should give up hope, especially since no one has contacted my references.

Overqualified, underexperienced,40F I just need a job asap even grocery but I’m worried they will know I’m just in a transitional phase

As the title says. I nearly have my Master’s degree but have not been able to find a job in the field that pays anything over $17.50. I need to at least make $25 an hour where I’m at.

A little background on me, four years ago I made $60k annually had always had a job. Then I had a health crisis, found out it was cancer and had to quit my job due to physical limitations per my doctor. Anyway so now I’m much better! I can’t do hard labor or stay on my feet for more than 4-5 hours.

What job will hire me right away? How do I explain the gap in employment?

I have enough money for November but not December so I need a job asap.

Thank you!

Any leads? Willing to be very humble here.

Just had final interview

So I just had my final round interview today, last week on Wednesday I had a two hour panel interview and then they called me yesterday (Monday) scheduling me for the final round interview that was for today. At the end of the call today they told me it was between me and one other person and congratulations for making it to the final round and then said I’ll know the decision by the end of the week the latest. They said they wouldn’t send me into the weekend not knowing if I got it or not. I felt like the interviews went well and I feel pretty confident but it’s eating me up inside, has anyone ever been in this situation and if you have did you end up getting the job?

Job Market Sucks

I’ve been unemployed since July, and I’m getting more demotivated as time goes on. I had two interviews last week. I’ve only heard back from one so far, but I’m worried I won’t get the job because I might have failed the psychometric test I did yesterday. I’m honestly exhausted from all of this.

First Job Interview Ever

I have my first interview tomorrow and I've never had a job or did an interview before. I am a little nervous. Is there anything I should know or do? I'm not very good at talking to people as people would call me extremely shy and I'm scared I'll clam up during the interview. I just wanted to know if anyone had any advice or anything.

10 years in recruitment, 6 months without a callback. Should I switch careers? [Seattle, WA - Remote only]

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I have 10 years of recruitment experience but haven’t received a single callback in 6 months of searching for remote US jobs.
I’m considering a career change and exploring paralegal certification, HRIS, data analytics, or SHRM-CP. I’m concerned about investing in certifications without relevant experience and still struggling to get hired.
I’d appreciate advice on:
Which career path offers realistic opportunities for someone with my background?
Is paralegal certification, HRIS, or SHRM-CP worth pursuing?
Which skills or certifications actually help people get hired?
Which legitimate remote job sites have worked for you?
I’d love to hear honest experiences and recommendations from anyone who has made a similar career transition.

Meeting with manager soon need advice

My current work environment is so toxic and I want out. I have an interview this week for a job I really want. I am meeting with the hiring manager. Is there anything you think I should say or do to impress him? I was thinking about making a presentation on what I am a good fit along with some ideas for the team. Is that too much? Would love some thoughts and advice if you have navigated the job market in the last year.

Work for student

Now that the strike won’t be ending soon, I really need to get some work or get into upskilling. I’ve tried getting chatting jobs the last couple of months but no luck. Currently learning VA skills and wondering if it’s really worth it. If you have any opportunity or advice, I’d really appreciate it…

How do you email/dm managers directly asking for a job? H E L P

For no ones surprise I'm navigating the job market. I am an industrial designer and there don't seem to be many positions for my expertise. I see everywhere that I should reach directly to the managers and ask them about oportunities. I guess my question is not much is you have ever gotten a job but more what the hell do you write on the DM without looking too desperate (I am tho). Not that I care much about to look desperate but more as in I don't want them to be directly annoyed at me.

For context: I'm in Finland, looking for a job in Helsinki, Stockholm or Copenhagen.
