If Brook Lynn & Chase were just going to divorce, why tease us with the idea of Chase & Willow having an affair?

Post image
90 Upvotes

For months they have teased us with the idea of Chase and Willow having an affair with it never amounting anything. Not a kiss. Not them sleeping together. Nothing. Just Chase constantly defending Willow and Willow playing damsel in distress and Chase running to her rescue. None of it led anywhere. All they ever did is have endless conversations with Willow going “poor me” and Chase sycophantically agreeing with everything she says. Willow was fantasizing about Chase in the sauna a couple months back and it went nowhere. She never deviously plotted to “steal” Chase from BLQ. Chase never showed that he had romantic feelings for Willow.

There was a perfect opportunity to use the abysmal “other driver” storyline as a means for an angry Chase to step out on Brook Lynn but nope they just never committed. I don’t care if Chase finds out after he’s divorced that Willow has been playing him. That’s boring because there are no stakes anymore.

If you wanna call it an “emotional affair,” that is boring and not soapy. This is a soap opera. We want to see scandalous affairs, lying, cheating, backstabbing, etc and after months of buildup, we never saw an affair. Michael was plotting to get Willow and Chase to hook up and it never happened. What a colossal waste of time the Chase/Willow/Brook Lynn storyline was. We got a non-accident and now a non-affair. Yet another story with no payoff.

Brook Lynn, Chase, the aftermath

For me, I personally want to see all of Willow’s crimes/misdeads come out, sooner rather than later not only because it’s way beyond time, but also for Chase to finally get the reality check that he needs and for him to see how much of her bullshit truly did impact his marriage to Brook Lynn. Also, Brook Lynn truly deserves to finally have that validation so that she can completely close the door on her marriage and move on. Not that she needs to move on with another man, I think she’s still too in love with Chase and deserves so much time to fully mourn her marriage while embracing motherhood, but to move on in giving herself some grace, realizing her instincts about Willow were on point. Hoping the Writer’s give us an exceptional scene of Chase ‘eating crow’.

General hospital theory/wishlist

• Upvotes

I have a big theory or wishlist thing I’d
Love to see. I’d love it if Isaiah was a OLTL Gannon. I’ve long theorized that Desmond is his kid and I stand by that Because Curtis IMO doesn’t deserve another kid. I would love it if Desmond was Really a Gannon and Isaiah was an OLTL Gannom. It would be such a neat way to tie both shows together and maybe bring on OLTL characters to GH. I’m sure that’s not gonna happen but id love it if it did.what do y’all think?

Since When do Social Workers run the hospital. Even on TV its Ridiculous.

Out of the many asinine storylines i fast forward past this wins the bizzoro world award. Dr rarely acknowledge Social Workers let alone answer to them. General hospital has six staff members Elizabeth Portia Isaiah Lucas felicia and Stella. There should be board members Cheif of staff as well as cheifs of each specialty. Cheif of staff and the board give Dr's their contracts and handle the behavior of them along with HR. Elizabeth in a Dr's coat is above and beyond laughable. Shes not a Dr shes not a lab worker lets hire more staff and get back to the stories revolve around the staff

An insult to viewer’s intelligence.

Suddenly rocco is danny’s friend and not brother so that rocco and scout’s gross relationship is not weird. This is another story pissing me ofd

Edit: some of you all are missing the point and speak to the point of my intelligence as a viewer. I am well aware they are not brothers biologically. Them living together only 2 years makes no difference. Danny and scout and Dante went through a significant loss, Sam was a significant part of the show. Jason was barely there or considered dead when dante and sam were together. After her death, dante and jason emphasized not disrupting the bond between danny and rocco, to the extent of dante moving in with the quartermaines. Now, without addressing this shift in “relationship”, theyre going to just start calling them ‘friends’? When people downgrade their relationship status when theyre upset, its passive aggressive. Danny calling Rocco ‘friend’ would be considered passive aggressive, unless the show makers want to move away from the brotherly bond.
If we’re going with biological, michael needs to stop calling sonny his dad
And there are lot of other incestous relationships that they should name.

Character history than and now

Sometimes I see the way characters are talked about and viewed as on the socials and wonder if I’ve watched the same show as everyone else. So I have some hot takes.
1- Brooklynn. This one is terrible. Extremely far removed from the original and zero qualities of the mix of Ned and Lois. Original Brook had personality and resilience. Also had amazing chemistry with Nikolas. I understand time moves forward and maybe Adrien Leon can not be Brook now, but what about anyone else? Can the show not recast?

2- Carly. The first two did a good job and at least had a softer side, this one has been angry and meaner far longer than any outlet source would require for people to want to feel love in the afternoon. So what is the reason for so much screen time over decades for an angry character? And let’s be honest, a villain can be likeable, insert just about any Cassadine to prove that point.

  1. Ava, Nina, Joss. Just like Carly, all interchangeable and very replaceable. So why the need for the same character in 4 different women?

Sending Charlotte to boarding school. does this seem ridiculous to anyone else?

So Lulu spent years without her daughter when she was child and then lost time with her while she was in a coma, yet first chance there are real issues they have to deal with as a parent, its off to boarding school for Charlotte? its ridiculous. (Also, Charlotte is fun and Danny will have no storyline without his partner in (Potential) crime)

Portmanteau- Any left?

I'll admit they can be silly, but we used to have CarSon, CarJax, Liason, JaSam, Lante, Spixie, Sprina, etc...

The only one I can think of is LiRic, but I think the Liz/Dante writing is in the wall. I don't even know if Carly/Valentine have one, lol.

Discussion General Hospital: Le Cordon Bye

Post image
197 Upvotes

Aiden secretly got his GED, was accepted to pastry school in Paris, and is leaving in FOUR DAYS. The kid has accomplished more offscreen than half of Port Charles has accomplished onscreen in a decade. 😂

And with that, Elizabeth is officially 3-for-3 in sending her legacy children to the prestigious University of Offscreen Exile. Apparently Aiden is majoring in pastry at Le Cordon Bye or whatever. WTF.

It’s like all three of Elizabeth’s boys have been shipped off to the Port Charles Witness Protection Program, where the only crime is being born into a core family the writers can’t be bothered to write for. That’s annoying. Can we not have one of them in town?

Maybe one of Elizabeth’s boys will be back next summer. At this point, I’m not even asking for all three. Just one. Surely GH can afford to let Elizabeth keep a child on the premises without violating some mysterious budget provision. I’m doubtful we’ll see a tearful, sweet send off. 🥐

Anybody else have thoughts about this? Seems like Aiden was reduced to a plot point in this boring pairing of Elizabeth and Dante.

New characters or no?

I remember earlier this year this sub was complaining on and on how we needed new characters/family and now that we have a ton, people are still complaining…

My only issue is that they should’ve done this a long time ago and build them in one by one. Yes there were new characters in 2024 and 2025, but none of them evidently had longevity. I’m enjoying the new characters personally but not at the expense of legacy characters being shipped off.

I guess we will see how all of these pan out, given the one year curse (as I like to call it) of people dying after being on contract for a year. Reportedly Hudson was given the standard 3 years, but Chris McKenna was killed off after only 1 year on contract so who knows?

Thoughts???

How do I get into this show?

I watched an episode or 2 like back in August, and I found it interesting. But I did have a few issues. Like, there are over 15000 episodes (or so I've heard). How am I supposed to understand anything that's going on if streaming doesn't even have most of them?

Weekly - What is your wishlist for GH

This thread is the place to promote whatever changes you'd like to see GH make. Maybe you have a favorite couple you'd like to see or there are hanging stories that need resolved... or maybe you just have some idea for some direction the show should go.

NO SPOILERS

This is your place to say what your wishlist for GH is. I'm not saying the show is going to read all of these and act on any of them, but there's a better chance of them if it's all in one place each week. It might also help to be kind of decent about it?

All board rules apply.

Just wanted to share my thoughts on the Sidwell/Cullum storyline wrap-up (4 months later lol)

I wanted to wait a bit before posting this in case the storyline continued somehow (i.e. Sidwell escaped or Cullum survived or something like that), and before I knew it, 4 months had already gone by.

I'm not a regular GH viewer per se, but back in the day I used to watch Y&R. I wanted to see some scenes between Daniel Goddard (Dalton) and Genie Francis (Laura) because they played mother and son on Y&R in 2011-2012. The scenes I found involved Laura and Dalton arguing over Rocco and then Laura finding Dalton's body in her trunk. As I kept watching more clips to find out what happened to Dalton, I discovered Sidwell (who is the most amusing villain I've ever seen) and I pretty much kept watching to see his antics and to see this storyline through.

The final showdowns at Wyndemere (Liesl/Carly/Joss/Cassius/Cullum) and Ava's Gallery (Ava/Ethan/Justine/Sidwell/Sonny) were more action in one week than you'd get in several years on Y&R. The writing on this show is 1000x better (maybe outside Y&R's Maria Bell era, but I digress). I think there are two things that would have made a great storyline and its climax even better:

  • They should have waited for Steve Burton to come back from his time off before this showdown took place. Imagine how dramatic it would have been if, when Cullum's henchman was trying to kill Carly in the Wyndemere living room (here; 1min 51sec), it was Jason who shot him (after, say, escaping the WSB) rather than Cassius.
  • We should have got to see a Sidwell/Cullum showdown after Sidwell finds out Cullum killed Marco. They never had a scene together after Sidwell learned the truth which I feel left that part of the storyline somewhat as a loose end. For much of that time I thought "I can't wait to see what Sidwell does to Cullum when he finds out" but it never happened.
  • We should have also got to see a Sidwell/Marco showdown after Marco learns that Sidwell was the one who firebombed Charlie's pub. As far as I know Marco died not knowing that his father was a big reason he never made it to Natalia's hotel room in time to save her.

All in all though, I think GH is probably the best soap on the air (though I've never seen Days or BtG and haven't seen Y&R or B&B in many years) because of how good the writing is, how much action they pack into storylines, and how good so many of the actors are.

Discussion Griffin return that went nowhere?

discussion, no spoilers

Okay I’m aware it’s been like 3(4?) years since this happened and nobody probably cares anymore, but when it happened I truly thought they were going to bring him back, when they showed Ellie on the phone with her boyfriend who was revealed to be Griffin. But then…it just went nowhere? Did the actor just not want to come back? Or did they just forget about it?

I thought about this cause I’ve been reminiscing about the old storylines and the characters since I’ve been frustrated with the current storylines, and then I remembered this random reveal.

Who is Ellen Smith??

So I looked through the recent posts to see if anyone else caught what I caught on Thursdays episode and it doesn’t seem like anyone mentioned it. “Ellen Smith” sent the flowers to Trina . Ellen is an anagram for Nelle….oh shit. Nevermind. 😂😂😂 I just realized as I am typing this that my theory is so wrong. Nelle was another skinny female psychopath. The one that was obsessed with Trina and presumed dead is Esme which is who I was thinking would be “Ellen” . I mean it still easily could be Esme but the name Ellen is not the immediate link I thought it was. This is what happens when you catch up on your soaps before having your morning coffee!!!😂😂😂
Too funny to delete so I figured I’d share my guffaw with other fans. Happy Sunday!

News DAYTIME EMMYS: 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' Icon Jonathan Frakes To Present Lifetime Achievement Honor To Genie Francis

Thumbnail soapoperanetwork.com
174 Upvotes

Jonathan Frakes presenting Genie Francis with a Lifetime Achievement Award is inspired. As Laura, Genie has survived nearly 50 years of Port Charles and more drama than anyone should have to endure. How fitting that it takes a Starfleet commander to finally give her the recognition she deserves. And how sweet that her husband Jonathan gets to present it. Well deserved! ❤️

What’s your favorite Laura moment or storyline from all these years?
