Hi everyone,
I have been meaning to make this post for awhile, to try and curb the amount of "Moving to Geelong! Which suburb should I pick?" posts. I am going to sticky this post for awhile, so any visitors can check before creating a post.
Please read through the enormous amount of posts this sub has already had on here.
If you STILL think your question hasn't been answered (and you are absolutely sure), you can create a new post.

Did anyone see or have any information about the car crash on the Shannon Avenue bridge over the Barwon River this morning around 10am?
It looked like at least two cars were involved, and they ended up quite a distance apart, with one of them crashing into the bridge barriers.
Funny enough, I was just saying to my wife on Monday that the footpath really needs railings to protect pedestrians in case something like this happens. Hopefully everyone involved is okay.

Looking for a new barber to tame my 80s style mullet, unfortunately the bloke I always went to had an accident at the start of the year and is still out of action
I’m not a fan of the fellas at joints like band of barbers or goat barbers, so ideally looking for an Aussie fella or even a pommy

How do you go about being a driver?
I've signed up with Amazon Flex but when I open the app, it says nothing is available in my area.
Do I need to apply directly via Amazon?

Does anyone have any reviews on last years festival? I’m tossing up on taking the family next weekend.
I’m a bit worried I’m hyping it up in my head and it won’t live up to expectations; years ago we used to go each year to the Abbey Medieval Festival in SEQ, which was brilliant. So much to see and do (and buy).
I normally wouldn’t ask this, and I don’t want to offend any performers or stall holders. It’s just that money is tight and lavish days out are rare nowadays (as I’m sure it is for everyone). I haven’t seen any promotion for the event which concerns me. The kids are keen, but I know they are expecting an extravaganza.
If I’m expecting a repeat of the Abbey’s events, will I be disappointed?

Saw in the Addy this morning that Tasty Asia is closing after 20 years, which leaves Harris Scarfe as the only business left on that second level. Remember when that food court was the busy spot at lunch. Anyone know what is actually planned for the redevelopment there?

A Geelong MP has claimed more than $60,000 in allowances for his Melbourne home, despite appearing to miss a majority of parliamentary sitting days.

I'm new in Geelong and need to find a new doctor/gp. I will have Medicare and am hoping to find someone on the younger side because they might be less burned out. I heard Kardinia in Grovedale might be good? I'm not an over complicated case, but I have nearly died due to dismissive care previously and I would like to start off with someone who actually believes patients and don't think we just come in to appointments for funsies. Any recommendations are much appreciated.

Hi there
Could anyone please let me know if some food banks in Geelong that do dinner handouts as due to an unexpected payment I’m now relying on these.
I can drive so distance isn’t too much of an issue, I just haven’t been able to find any through google
Thanks 😊

Hi fellow people of Geelong, I'm looking for a person or business that can help me hit my macros as I'm really struggling to find time for meal prep and cooking in general. Are there any recommendations for such a service in geelong that can work with me to achieve this? I don't want packaged food but rather someone who can make stuff for weekly goals and charge a fee for it. Happy to discuss prices. Thanks heaps.

Looking to get a bunch of compost to mix into soil for new garden beds but past experience we have had plastic mulched into it or PHs that are crazy. Want about 4 or 5m3 of really good compost?
Mr Ah Poo? Daisys? Flinstones?
I'm doing a minor refresh on my property and need a good plumber and electrician.
I've got a few jobs lined up, like a new sink, a new toilet and a split system aircon.
I don't know any tradies who'll do a quality job without ripping me off, so any recommendations would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I had a bunch of stuff stolen out of my car while waiting for the ferry at Corio Bay Motel and would like to just put it out there what im looking for. Im not keen on just letting the police handle it because its not important stuff to them and honestly by the time they find anything all of my stuff will probably be trashed as it isn't worth much to other people.
I had a bunch of cloths taken (American size 4) and one specific shirt (the picture above) that is super important to me.
A pink Elle backpack
A mushroom tarot deck and a small bag of crystals, two of them being really noticeable as they are cat shapped.
And a ton of kpop merch. The two binders above and two albums (Illit's i like you and Karma blue version Stray Kids) along with a small sushi looking plush.
An airfryer
My prescription purple glasses and my contacts.
I'd appreciate any help with getting my belongings back. There were CCTVs present where my car was so im hoping to find this person anyway. But everything helps.
P.S. The binders are the most important thing stolen. Yes I would love to have my clothes back but the binders were gifts from my fiance who is devastated at the loss.

Looking for somewhere low key to sit for an hour on a weekend morning. Not after anything fancy, just decent coffee and not too loud. Where do you go?
