Hey Reddit!
We’re Feed 64, a small indie team. We spent nearly five years making Gennady, invested over $300,000 in development, and today we finally released it.
You know, the quiet life.
Who’s Gennady?
Your average, slightly out-of-shape, middle-aged dude. He finds himself in his underwear inside an alien meat factory and has to figure out how to escape.
“Figure out” mostly means fighting grotesque creatures, dashing through enemies, and using his own body as a weapon.
The result is a fast-paced action roguelike platformer with mostly black-and-white visuals and absurd humor.
Everything is drawn by hand. Yes, all 7,000 animation frames too.
In an age of AI slop, we’re especially proud to show off our artist’s work. All the artwork and frame-by-frame animation were created by hand, with no AI-generated images.
There’s an artist behind every movement Gennady makes and every disgusting alien creature he encounters. We’d love to talk about how we drew this world and brought it to life.
And it all started as a mobile game.
During development, the project grew into a game for PC and consoles. Along the way, we had to rethink decisions, tackle new challenges, and learn from our mistakes. Nearly five years later, Gennady is finally available to buy and play.
Answering your questions today:
- Denis Zorin - Art Lead u/Zealousideal_Rule_14

Ask us about:
- How a mobile project became a PC and console game and what had to change.
- Why development took nearly five years.
- Where the money went and how we funded the project.
- What it’s like to draw thousands of animation frames by hand.
- The combat, enemies, and game mechanics.
- What inspired us, where we went wrong, and what we’d do differently now.
Or anything else. It’s an AMA - see you in the comments!
