Jaidyn Stephenson?
Our forward line is sort of getting obliterated this trade period and if Greene goes should we have a look at Jaidyn Stephenson? He’s been killing it for Coburg in the VFL and he looks motivated and dedicated to his footy again. He could be a good SSP pickup for us

Do we need the controversy or the spotlight?

Well if Toby goes we do lack the controversy in the forward line...

North fan here. He has all the talent in the world but is lazy. He has no defensive side to his game and does not work hard off the field either. There is a chance that a taste of a regualr Joe 9-5 job may have given him a kick in the ass that he needed but i doubt it. He did do a pre season at port and they decided against it.

I back our young players in to fill Toby’s shoes if he leaves. Pass from me

Pass. He was a train on for Port in the last preseason and they passed on him despite needing depth in their midfield and forward line.

They are at a different point in the premiership window though, they are in full rebuild mode. I think we are just clinging to the win finals mode (hopefully tom green and others being fit helps us improve next season).
Recruiting a ready made player would potentialy help them win games for the next few seasons but that would get them lower draft picks, and also take a spot off a younger player hindering their development.
His tackle and goal numbers are huge. 17 games, 55 schnahgs and 89 tackles. Possessions count was poor, but sort of irrelevant.
Will compete with Riccardi, gru and Cadman, and for that reason I'm pass, we don't need a player of that type - unless his pressure is really good

Port won more games this year because they didn’t pick Stephenson lol. They picked the untried Mitch Zadow instead who contributed more and would actually be part of Port’s next premiership.

Played 9 games kicked 8 goals.
That's a pretty underwhelming return. Younger and has more upside which was my point

Ok you’re clearly not getting it. Port also selected Will Brodie, Jack Watkins and Jacob Wehr over Jaidyn Stephenson. That should properly tell you what you need to know…

As a Coburg local who has seen Stevo a few times this year all of the criticisms you’d have had as a north supporter would still be valid. He’s a great VFL goal kicker but so was the other Coburg full forward this year and he played one game for Collingwood after being drafted because he didn’t have enough else in the kitbag.
