Resources for botanizing during the spring bloom?

Hi all, I'm a soil scientist and amateur botanizer and I'm super excited to be taking my first specific botanizing trip to GSMNP next year in mid-April. Sadly I will miss the spring wildflower pilgrimage. I'm looking for any recommendations for a good field guide book, and/or any useful online forums for learning more about the local flora. Thanks in advance for any recs!

This book is what we've always used, and it's wonderful.

You can buy it at any visitors center for the park, or online from Smokies Life (see the link).
