I love the clarity of this letter, it really tells an interesting story in a short few paragraphs. I can imagine the government employee that received this happily tucked it into his newest saint book at home.

Less stylish than many posts in here, but an interesting bit of transport history that fell out of a Dilbert comic strip collection while I was sorting out some books recently.

First time seeing a 3D printed bookmark. It's pretty cool, but the front looks a little crappy compared to the back.

Found postcard in a library book - serving as bookmark. My mom is the librarian and brought this home. A grandma writing to her grandson in Dutch - which I slightly understand thanks to Duolingo

Old University Club Tag

Found this University Club of Toronto tag in a copy of Fly-Rods and Fly Tackle from 1885.

A quick search of the names revealed a unique history!

From my best quick research, Edward Cronyn was the brother of Hume Cronyn Sr, a Canadian politician and lawyer. Edward was a Toronto businessman and founded York Downs Golf & Country Club.

Mr. Duggan Gray was also a Toronto businessman and listed as a director of Parsons & Whittemore Ltd which was rooted in the construction and paper industries.

I love when books contain a story other than what was written by the author!

the ink is completely faded out so i can't even tell what film it was for but it has the old theater name on the back before they it down to build luxury apartment complex and holding that little piece of thin thermal paper made my brain instantly flash back to sitting in a freezing room eating stale popcorn with someone i haven't spoken to in a decade

Found in a Spanish slang dictionary. I tried to decipher it but it gave me a headache. I was told it may be possessed.

Found this tucked between the pages of an old paperback I picked up at a thrift store

The owner of the thrift store told me the box of books this came from was donated from an estate sale after an older gentleman passed away. There’s no name or date on the photo, but I can’t help wondering if she might have been his wife.

I keep thinking about him carrying this photo around in his book, coming across it every time he opened it. Maybe he liked having her close, even in the smallest way. There’s just something so bittersweet and beautiful about finding an ordinary piece of someone’s life like this, but you know you’ll probably never know the full story behind it

Found at a car boot sale/flea market. Someone either really loved Shakespeare or used the book as a press to save their souvenir, I imagine.
