Success Story Finally got a Girlfriend
After being single my entire life as of yesterday I finally have a girlfriend, it's a good feeling not feeling alone anymore in this world.

It's one thing if she's in another part of your own country, but a foreign country (unless it's Europe maybe) is more difficult and straight up a little suspect.

No, but I do have an update...
We've vc'd and face timed several times and have even watched a movie together now (on stream). We are having a good time with each other.

Aside from the negative comments, have either of you discussed any intent to move if you need to or at least meet up in the near future? As a serial penpal, I can say with confidence you two should have some sort of plan to meet in real life or do stuff together online or it will fizzle out in about a month.
I say do stuff online together because I know of a couple that started long distance then eventually moved together. They played WoW together to keep in touch. I have the ability to meet someone long distance if the opportunity ever came up, and that is excessively hard.

Yes I'm planning to visit in December for her birthday and she eventually plans to move to Texas later in our relationship.

Good for you then. Just be careful if she expects you to pay for her flight tickets or something like that. Let her pay for the tickets then reimburse her when she gets here.

5 days of talking and youre already in a relationship? my advice is just have fun with it dont base your happiness on this “relationship” because you will break when it ends

Good luck man but really try to keep some level of detachment, you’ve known each other a week and have only texted. Video call make sure she’s real. Don’t send anything explicit. And don’t get too attached too quick, long distance is hard in the best circumstances and these are far from the best circumstances, the amount of discord “relationships” I had that lasted less than a month lol and I don’t even remember most of their names
But then there was one that lasted 3 years, ultimately didn’t work out because of the distance but it was absolutely real so I’m not going to say that there’s 0 chance this works out. Though that’s even more caution, we were together that long and genuinely loved each other and the long distance still didn’t work out. Just temper your expectations or you’re likely to be even worse later than you were before
