As discussed in a previous post, I saw the Discovery price deal this morning which seemed to be on only for a few hours. The onboarding is as follows:
SELECT YOUR PLAN - confirm location - select SIM option - CONFIRM "Your mobile plan" - order SIM card (physical SIM) - Create account - add cc and pay
The entire onboarding "Your mobile plan" posted for me was $21.75 for 35GB for 24 months, the additional discount I assumed was for the SIM cost reimbursement which is $16.95 all in.
So I place the order... then i notice I'm only charged for the SIM card, and there is no phone plan associated with my account!
Couldn't believe it, went back to try and order with eSIM option, but it wouldn't offer the same plan. Fizz is basically like "We got you in, here's our regular offerings sucker". In hindsight I wish I tried eSIM first.
Chatting with customer service was no help, they duct questions, I offered to return SIM to sender but they wouldn't reimburse cost of the SIM. When I asked for link or fine print that states signing up for a plan is not really signing up for a plan, they couldn't provide any documentation. ( I highlighted their key response above.)
Long story short. I'm out 17 bucks and stuck with a SIM I have no plan to use. Clearly Fizz has been on this shady practice for a while, found this post from a few years ago.
Now have to remove cc because apparently that's the only way to delete your Fizz account. Will be disputing charge with bank, and I encourage anyone with the same experience to report Fizz to CCTS
