Hello, I'm currently travelling Solo and will be in San Pedro de Atacama and Uyuni(Bolivia) for the next 7 days until 3rd of November.
Is anyone here during that time too? Happy to connect. Be it for a coffee, join the same tours or just exchanging Tipps on where to go when.

Tip/SuggestionđĄ Best spot on Cerro San CristĂłbal for that iconic photo of Sky Costanera + Andes mountains?
âHi everyone!
âIâll be visiting Santiago in a few days and planning a trip up Cerro San CristĂłbal.
âI really want to take that iconic panoramic photo featuring the Sky Costanera tower framed against the Andes backdrop. However, Iâm wondering about the best exact vantage point for this.
âMy concern is that from the very top (near the Sanctuary / Terraza Bellavista), the tower might look a bit too small or distant in the frame. Are there better, slightly lower lookout points (miradores) along the trail/cable car route that offer a closer, more balanced perspective of the skyscraper and the mountains?
âWould love to hear your recommendations on specific spots, whether it's better to take the Funicular or TelefĂ©rico for the views, or any specific times of day (sunset/afternoon light) that work best for photos!
âThanks in advance for the tips!

Trip Planning đ Parque InglĂ©s summer weather?
I am putting together a packing list for the northern segments of the Greater Patagonian Trail. I would be there this January and am particularly interested in segment 6, which begins at Parque Inglés.
My searches say that daytime temperatures normally tend to around 25°C with overnights lows around 12°. Is that more or less correct?
And is my understanding that El Niño conditions in the region tend to be warmer and drier than average?
Many thanks!

Trip Planning đ Recommendations for reliable tour operators in San Pedro de Atacama & Easter Island?
âHi everyone!
âI will be traveling to Chile in about one week and spending time in both San Pedro de Atacama and Easter Island (Rapa Nui) (with a stop in Santiago as well).
âAs a passionate photographer, my main priority is finding reliable, high-quality tour operators that prioritize visiting the most iconic spots (like Valle de la Luna, Piedras Rojas, Tatio Geysers, Rano Raraku, Ahu Tongariki, etc.) with proper timing and good pacing.
âI want to avoid budget "tour mill" operators that rush you through secondary locations or spend half the day stop-and-go for tourist traps. Seeing how widely prices vary between agencies, I am looking for companies that offer the best balance between quality and fair pricing.
âSpecifically:
- âSan Pedro de Atacama â general tours: Which agencies offer well-organized tours with solid logistics and good guides that don't rush the main highlights?
- âSan Pedro de Atacama â astronomy & astrophotography: I am specifically looking for an astro tour where bringing and using your own mirrorless camera and tripod is allowed. I know many standard stargazing tours forbid personal cameras and only offer quick souvenir shots, so Iâd love recommendations for agencies (or dedicated photo/astrophotography guides) that let you shoot the night sky yourself while also offering professional photos.
- âEaster Island (Rapa Nui): Which tour companies or local certified guides are best (e.g., getting to key sites like Ahu Tongariki or Rano Raraku before/after the big tour buses)?
âAny recent experiences, specific agency names, or price range estimates would be greatly appreciated.
âThanks in advance for your help!

Experience đ Santiago to Maitencillo
We (myself, my partner, and our 3 kids 7, 4, and 4) are visiting Chile over winter break. Weâre spending most of our time in Santiago with my partnerâs family, but we are taking a trip to Maitencillo to stay at a beach house with family. Weâre looking for something fun to do with kids on the drive back to Santiago. It would just be a stop along the way back, no more than a few hours. In the past weâve done the jardin botanico outside of Vina and we loved that, so something along those lines or other little kid friendly activities (parks, etc). We like hiking but canât walk too far with the 4 year olds. Hopefully not too far off the main drive home. Thanks!

Questionâ Transferring from Domestic to International in Santiago airport
Hi all. I am planning a trip to Chile next April and am planning to visit Rapa Nui as our last destination. So we will be flying from there back to the US, via Santiago of course. The flights we are looking at have a 1 hour and 40 minute layover in Santiago and I am wondering if that is enough time to go through passport control and make our connection. All the flights are on LATAM so we shouldn't have to worry about rechecking baggage.
Thanks!
