Hi all,
This is going to be the only thread that will talk about mods from now on. In the future, posts about asking recommended mods will be deleted. I listed some of my recommended mods I've used before and can recommend. I have a lot more that I haven't listed here, I just wanted this post quickly out. If you have anything else to add, leave a comment with a link and I'll try to update this list every once a while.

Scania
MAN
Mercedes-Benz

Out of curiosity I drove 47k km on one set of tyres. Surprisingly it was OK-ish on dry roads, as long as the cargo wasn't heavier than 25t. Hauling a log stacker from France to Norway (2000+ km) was a mistake though. 54t are not that comfortable with 4x2 chassis even if the truck is in perfect shape. On 80% worn tires it was a nightmare. I had no grip whatsoever. I racked up like 6k fines for crashes, either because I couldn't stop in time or hit the cars with the flatbed. Also, entire thing was on the edge of overturning, almost every corner ranged from intense to scary. To make things worse, it was an urgent delivery, and one stint was under rain. So I still had to do 86-87 kp/h on the straights to make up the time lost due to the lack of grip. That one haul was definitely one of the most intense experiences I've had in video games.

It is a speed camera detector. Is this cheating or am I in the "real" simulation?

Hello, I just bought this game a week ago and I should explain I've never played anything like this before, but I'm also not much of a gamer at all really. But one thing I do a lot of is role play (calm down!). I basically bought this because it seemed like something I could use to relax after work and putting my kid to bed.
I've managed to buy a used Scania and started my haulage company. Now what I do to take jobs is use a random number generator to decide what city to take jobs in, and drive empty to that city.
The role play in universe reason for this is because there are so many established haulage companies out there who is realistically going to hire a fledgling one run by a guy with little experience. So my driver is sat in his hotel in Zurich desperately scouring the Internet for jobs that will take a chance on a new company. Hears a rumour about a job in Rotterdam, braves the trek, gets there and takes whatever is available. Damn, it's only chicken to Bremen, but whatever Rome wasn't built in a day after all.
So is this a dumb way to play? Or is it ok to embrace this you think? Are there other sadists in this subreddit too?
Also what an amazing community you guys are!

I know some people think ETS2 should only include Europe, or Turkey at most, but sooner or later, there will be no countries left to add.
Iceland is coming soon, followed by Ireland and Turkey. The UK will also be reworked, but what comes next? Only Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova would remain, along with a few island countries that would make for very small DLCs. Eastern Ukraine is unlikely to be added due to politics, and Heart of Russia remains unreleased.
In my opinion, if non-European countries are added, they should be geographically and culturally close to Europe and have real freight connections with it.
These include:
Morocco
Tunisia
Armenia
Georgia
Azerbaijan
Kazakhstan
Uzbekistan
Kyrgyzstan
Iran, Algeria (partially)
Trucks from these countries can actually be spotted in Europe.
However, Central Asia would require either an expanded Heart of Russia reaching the Urals or a ferry connection from Azerbaijan.

Currently the only differences from real life counterpart was the dash line way thinner in the game (Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland & Austria). I noticed it because Italy is the only one that got it right. Secondly, some guardrails in Germany also uses older model compared to newer one from the latest patch. If anybody find the specific mods that I'm looking for, that'd be appreciated🙏🏻

Any way to get it working on Steam Machine with controller?

Do we already know from which ports we can take a ferry to the official Iceland DLC area?

I feel like fast traveling is too busted because you will always have a perfect offer for no downsides. If you have to drive a long distance for a good offer it will be balanced. But also pro mods makes the distances sometimes way way too big to drive for nothing. So I wonder what you guys do

Here's my good old Streamline. Although its interior model clearly shows its age, this truck is my favorite for hauling heavy, bulky loads, feels really good. It’s something else I dreamed of doing when I was a child. With a red truck.

Watch out for this road, especially at night, it is very bumpy to the point that it will damage your truck and trailer. You will not see it coming at night.
