News/Release GameHub Lite v5.1.8 (SECURITY UPDATE)

GameHub Lite v5.1.8

Security: Steam token redaction in logs

GameHub Lite 5.1.8 fixes a logging issue where Steam authentication-related values could appear in diagnostic logs. In some cases, logs could include fields such as steamToken, refreshToken, or accessToken from Steam login/launch flows.

Publicly posted logs containing these fields should be deleted or redacted.

IMPORTANT

This should go without saying but If you find any security issues, please reach out PRIVATELY. I have not checked if this issue is still present in recent GameHub versions, already ruined my one day off I was spending with my family by the person who reported this publicly and I do not plan on spending any more time on this.

Changelog

The fix adds centralized log redaction for Steam/auth token fields, Steam QR login URLs, JWT-like token strings, and launch command token arguments before logs are written. This covers the app loggers, JavaSteam logging, and the PC launch-log file writer.

This release also pins local patch builds to apktool 2.12.1

Showcase Raitchi Emu: a shared native Switch runtime for Android

Preview release: Raitchi 0.0.1
Source: igawa6/Raitchi

Hi, Built using AI Assisted, Raitchi, an experimental Android launcher and shared runtime combining work from Switch recomp projects with an Eden-derived Android frontend.

The idea: one runtime that benefits multiple games, instead of separate Android ports repeating the same platform fixes.

Many recomp projects follow ARM64 → C → a new executable because come from PC Port. Raitchi uses continuous native code execution (NCE) to run original ARM64 CPU code, implements the required HOS services, and translates NVN graphics to Vulkan. Eden already uses NCE too; Raitchi explores sharing this recomp-derived runtime and graphics approach across games.

For players, the goal is emulator-like simplicity: select a supported NSP and launch it, without manually extracting the whole game or compiling generated game C. Automatic import/preparation still happens. This first preview is for Android ARM64, with testing on AYN Thor.

It's still experimental and theoretical, should many still unplayable.

What has actually been tested?

  • Earlier bounded gameplay/save/movement tests worked in Link's Awakening, Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!, Echoes of Wisdom and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. These are tested scenes, not complete-game compatibility claims.
  • A broader sweep checked 58 library entries. 11 reached visible startup screens, menus or intros. That does not mean 11 games are playable; other entries hit black screens, runtime failures or package/metadata blockers.
  • Fire Emblem: Three Houses reached its automatic class demo at about 30 fps, following a shared shader optimization. That is demo evidence, not a gameplay pass.

Shader preparation learns exact pipeline recipes and reuses caches. Known combinations can be prepared before gameplay, but coverage is incomplete: first-use shader compilation and loading can still cause noticeable stutter. This is not a stutter-free release or a performance comparison with Eden.

Credit belongs to Eden and its contributors, LASRecomp, LASRecomp-Android-Plus, Let's Go Recomp, EoWRecomp, and their dependencies. Raitchi retains their license notices and attribution; the repository documents the source lineage.

Showcase Cyberpunk 2077 | Odin 3 | Andreno 830

With the recent developments of Gamehub's rutabaga driver, Cyberpunk 2077 became playable on andreno 830 with minimal freezing.

Someone on the Droiddeck discord recompiled it for Droiddeck. I extracted the android side and loaded it into Winlator Ludashi with the WFG PR for Winlator Framegen. This driver for some reason boosted my minimum fps in the benchmark by almost 10 fps. Average fps was 47 fps in the benchmark tool.

Now it holds at least 30 fps 95% of the time on the Odin 3. This is 720p, steamdeck settings, only changing textures to medium and motion blur to low.

Discussion DroidDeck Is Bringing the Real Steam Experience to Android, One Impossible Problem at a Time

So I've been chatting with the people behind DroidDeck over the last couple weeks, and I've finally put together what turned into a rather lengthy feature about the project, its history, and the people making it happen.

I interviewed The412Banner, Max, xXJSONDeruloXx, Kimchi and Astro Sky, digging into everything from their earliest experiences with gaming and development to how their separate experiments with Linux, Gamescope and Steam eventually came together. What started as a way of getting the actual Steam client running on Android has grown into something way more ambitious, and I really wanted to tell the story of how that happened rather than just write another overview of what the software can do.

We also got into the technical challenges, the ridiculous pace of development (it updated and changed a few times while writing this!), their approach to AI-assisted coding and automated testing, the importance of open source, and where they hope to take DroidDeck in the future. There are some personal stories in there too, particularly about the early breakthroughs and the excitement of finally seeing things work. It's a long read, admittedly, but I wanted to give everyone involved the space to tell their side of the story. I'm really grateful to all five for taking the time to answer my many, many questions, and I hope you enjoy getting to know a little more about the people behind a project that's quickly become one of the more interesting developments in Android handheld gaming!

To make it clear, regarding the new rules in place for this sub-reddit, DroidDeck makes use of AI to assist development

I've put about 15 hours into the game already. Some tracks with much vegetation produce frame drops regardless of settings, experimenting with different drivers to see if there is a solution. But overall, very pleased - never had the chance to play GT4, only the newer games.

Discussion Imagine telling gamers five years ago what Android devices can do today

Running demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077 on handheld Android devices or experimenting with older titles like Skate would've sounded unbelievable just a few years ago. Now, with powerful chips and constantly improving emulators, mobile gaming keeps pushing boundaries in ways we never expected. 🎮🔥

What's the most impressive game you've managed to run on your Android device? Share your device, emulator, and performance results. I'm curious to see just how far everyone's pushing mobile emulation!

Question Trying to run Skate 1on ARMSX3 RP5

Trying to play skate 1 on my retroid pocket 5. I was able to tweak some settings to actually get past the menu. When I play fps jumps between 15 and 25 frames

Anyone know the best settings to get a stable 30fps?

I will say my RP5 was purchased on launch so I wasn't able to get one with 12gigs of ram, so I'm stuck with 8gigs.

Showcase Rebit Play on Android: cloud saves with the browser version and online GBA link rooms

• Upvotes

I'm Rebit Play's developer. The Android app shares your library and cloud saves with the browser version, so you can continue on a computer without manually transferring your save each time. You bring your own legally obtained game files, and saves can be downloaded for backup.

For GBA multiplayer, compatible games can use online link cable rooms: the host creates a room and sends a code to the other players. There are direct peer-to-peer and relay options. It uses existing emulator cores, with my work focused on the app and multiplayer integration around them.

The free tier includes cloud saves and multiplayer. A paid plan adds storage and features, including relay options.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cc.rebit.android

I'd appreciate feedback from Android players on the touch controls and the steps to get into a link room. If something fails, the phone model, Android version and game would help me investigate. I don't have performance numbers to claim for every device.

AI disclosure: I use AI assistance in development and used AI assistance to draft this introduction. The visual assets are not AI-generated.

Question Frontend that works vertically and takes only half screen?

Hi, guys. In this world of frontends, never bigger than now, is there one that works vertically and occupies half the screen? I use a Gamesir Taco with my phone and I have been using pure RetroArch. I know ES DE works vertically, but it takes the whole screen. But I would love a frontend that fits the Taco-like cellphone controllers. Is there any now? This is a suggestion for the frontend developers too. It's a very specific use case, I know, but not the most uncommon one.

Showcase Tutorial on how to get borderlands 2 mods to work on android

Thumbnail
gallery
23 Upvotes

First step: Install the latest bannerlator https://github.com/The412Banner/Bannerlator/releases/tag/3.1.7

Second step: Create the container

Wine: Proton-11.0-2-arm64ec-15 Dxvk: 2.4.1-1-gplasync-arm64ec-0 Driver: StevenMXZ Turnip Gen 8 v38 for A8xx gpus and Turnip v27.0.0-R1 for A6xx A7xx gpus

Advanced settings: WOWBox64-0.4.4-0 set to compatibility FEXCore-2610-2246 set to intermediate

Third step: Press the three horizontal lines on the top left corner and click file manager now, go to your downloads folder and hold the borderlands 2 game folder and press the internal button and go to Drive C and copy/move the game folder. Now what this does is it speeds up the loading time, if you don't move the game to drive C it will take like 10-15 minutes for the game to boot up, so this is a very necessary step

Now for the final step: Download the latest mod manager https://github.com/bl-sdk/willow2-mod-manager/releases/tag/v3.8 Extract it and press the folder and there will be 2 folders "binaries" and "sdk_mods" now, launch the bannerlator and go to the file manager again press the download folder, once again click the willow2-sdk folder and copy the "Binaries" "sdk_mods" folder to the borderlands 2 game folder on the Drive C and it'll say that this folder already exists press merge anyways, and that's it you got the mod manager installed!

Showcase GTA Trilogy HakuX Exprince [Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra]

Post image
3 Upvotes

- Details Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra running Android 17 & ONE UI 9.0 with HakuX verion 1.2 at 3× to native 1440p - Review Most of them have the same main feel & gameplay for me. It runs well at it's normal 30 fps with some visual glitches but some of them have some quarks. GTA III doesn't boot unless you're on HakuX Version 1.2 & when you boot up GTA SA The frame rate on the title card will go up to 60fps but then fall down to as low as 4-6fps which to me seems like a quark with how either the game was programmed or the emulation. Now ofc the main problem with visuals is harder to address, is it the software or my phone drivers? I don't have the time rn to figure out but if it's the emulator then hopefully that will be fixed in a future update. IDK how much this matters because you can play the mobile or PS2 version on the go but for me it's cool to run these special versions of the games on my phone now.
