Why posts are being held: a hello from Mods

Hello all! Especially new posters, just wanted to let you all know, please do not be alarmed if your posts of comments are ever held/deleted/filtered for spam, I’ve had to put really strong auto mod controls on again, it’s just 2 of us holding this sub together, and we don’t have time to let anything get posted, as this sub was marked for deletion by Reddit when we picked it up and made it back in to a community space, for Eastbourne and modded by locals of the town.

Unfortunately due to recent events, certain redditors taking internet comments extremely personally, threatening physical in person harm to myself, and stalking the real people behind the mod wall, I’ve with a heavy heart, had to lock loads down again, so apologies if stuff is waiting in queues. We will get to them as quick as we can, but I have to keep checking it’s not the person in question trying to get around the ban, they do not want to let it go for whatever reason.

Happy postings all and hoping we will be back to normal asap!

looking for information about a fallen tree that damaged a car

Hi everyone

I'm hoping someone in Eastbourne might be able to help me find some information about a tree that damaged my car near Eastbourne station. This happened around October 21st.

I'm currently dealing with an insurance claim and trying to establish more about the condition of the tree involved, whether it was dead or diseased, and whether there had been any previous concerns or reports about i

I recently came across an article in the Sussex Express about dead and dangerous trees in Eastbourne, including a report of a large branch falling onto a parked car on Milnthorpe Road. It also mentioned wider concerns about the condition of street trees in the are

I'm wondering whether anyone knows anything about the trees near the station, particular!

- Whether any of the trees in that area were known to be dead, diseased or dangerou

- Whether any trees or branches have fallen there previously

- Whether anyone has reported concerns about these trees to the council

- Whether there are any photographs, local reports or records that could help establish the condition of the tree before my incident

If anyone witnessed my incident, has information about the trees near the station, or knows where I could find records of previous inspections or complaints, I'd really appreciate it if you could comment or message me privatel

Thanks in advance for any help!

Made a game for anyone who’s ever lost their chips to a gull on the seafront

Anyone who’s tried to eat chips on Eastbourne beach knows the gulls run this town. So I made a little game where you get to be one. You swoop over a seaside town, nick chips, dodge kites and eagles, and bomb the people below.

It’s free on Android if anyone fancies a go: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gullbomber.game

Not on iPhone yet, sorry. Best gull-related chip theft story wins my respect.

Auction in Sovreign Harbour

As the title says, does anyone have any experience of selling in sovreign harbour area?

Currently have a flat up at auction at a tremendous discount and still no interest. Does anyone have any insight as to why the market is so poor and what they did to boost views?

Hello community! We live in the Blue Mountains, Australia and have lived in our house for 4 years now. We just found these camera slides tucked away at the very top of a cupboard, I was hoping we could use the power of the internet to find their family!

Interview space

Hi all, I have an important interview coming up on teams, however I am unable to do this at home, are there any private places around the area (even ones I may need to pay for) I can use for this interview? Would rather avoid doing it in my car

Thanks

Cumberland Hotel - New Lunch Menu

I've just got back from lunch at the Cumberland Hotel. Their new menu launched today - £16 for 2 courses during October. There's a 3 course option too for £22.5 but none of us had desert.

I didn't have high expectations, at that price-point so I was very pleasantly surprised.

Nice food, beautifully presented. The menu had about 4 choices of starter and 4 choices of main. But none of my party had any trouble choosing because they were nice choices and a little bit different. Our waiter told us they plan to change the menu weekly.

I chose lardon and black pudding scotch egg. Followed by a crusted pork loin. Both were delicious. My wife and mum both chose a goats cheese salad. My mum chose lamb and my wife chose halibut.

Portions were just right for us. Enough to satisfy whilst avoiding stupid American-sized portions.

Strong recommendation from me. I will be going again.

one piece TCG venues

Hi all,

I've recently got into the one piece card game and I am aware of mana and hail Mary. I know they sell one piece tcg stock but are there any venues that hold events/tournaments?

bandai+ app shows the obvious brighton locations and Hastings and Bexhill but they are too far for me to travel to as I am Seaford based.

It seems that not many venues are registered to hold events or I'm so new I can't find them.

Thanks :)

Does anyone know what’s happening with the Costa building on Battle high street? And what shop it will become? It’s been vacant for months now… and the cash machine has been out of action for over a year!

Sovereign Harbour Questions

Hi all. Looking at moving to Eastbourne and liking the Sovereign Harbour area. Is it a nice and safe place to live (with a teen)? Is the beach in the area good for swimming (in Summer 😊). I saw in one post mention about sewerage stench as the treatment centre is close by? Any input would be appreciated 🙏 Thank you
