Present Day [r/Earth25] [r/GothamNews] After two months missing, Batman has been declared officially a victim of the dusted. The Bat-Signal goes dark in a final farewell to one of our city's most important symbols.
Two months have passed since that fateful day when the alien invader and mad titan, Thanos, caused the dusted and since then, there has been no response to the bat in the sky.
This, along with the death of billionaire philanthropist Bruce Wayne, whose projects and investments within the city to improve infrastructure had been detained indefinitely by the board of directors of Wayne Industries, Police Chief Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent adds another wound to the tragedy by taking away another of our city's most important symbols, one that, whether you liked it or not, had begun a campaign against the crime more than four years ago.
With the crime rate rising again amid the chaos and the recent escape of patients from Arkham, the situation seems to be twisting into agony, just when it seemed that we was finally beginning to regain our hope. This makes us wonder, what does the future hold for this city? Will someone take up the mantle, Will someone dare to stand up again to bear its weight?, or will it sink back into its old misery?
OOC: I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I love how James Gunn used the blip as a narrative device to justify the Dark Knight's conspicuous absence in this universe, not only because any marked representation of the Blip in the media is welcome as long as it is done respectfully, If not because it made us understand how important the character was within the universe by highlighting his loss, both of the hero and of Bruce Wayne. Furthermore, the scene where he rematerializes right above, on the roof of Dr. Phosphorus's party, before giving them all a brutal beating, I think we can all agree is one of the best introductions of the character in the entire DC media: https://youtube.com/shorts/redT2ZUd7pE?si=UH_ysnrJCoUTHQ75
(real) OOC: I had the stupidest idea ever.
