DWIGHT PIC Dwight doesn’t like getting his belly brushed. Airplane ears activated.

In his wise age, Dwight struggles to groom his belly due to his arthritis. If I don’t brush it, his hair easily gets matted. Dwight is also highly ticklish and doesn’t enjoy belly brushes (he does, however, enjoys belly scratches). This is the face he gives me after I brush out his belly tufts lol.

He’s sooooooo dramatic. He was purring and so happy right before these photos when I brushed his back. As soon as I got to the belly? Airplane ears. Demon mode.

My floofy girl, BK, is the same way! I finally found a brush that she tolerated and now almost enjoys lol but the minute I try to do the belly it's like a switch flips 😆 she loves belly scratches as well but despises the belly brush!

It’s so weird! I don’t understand! The brush isn’t even super harsh or anything crazy - scratching his belly is definitely more aggressive and he’s cool with it. He’s so dramatic lmao

My cats also don’t love the brush. Finn tolerates it better than Collete. Yet during shedding season my god Collete is the one who gives me a new blanket. And she’s my shorthair!

That’s how Dwight can get too. I swear I could make another cat with the extra fur.

Dwight loves his head / neck / back / tail brushed. He’ll purr and headbutt me lovingly. But as soon as I get to the belly? Demon mode.

Nope, she hates brushies all over. She’s also a tortie so it makes sense.

Edit: and she LOVES belly scratches. Didn’t think she would, she’s so skittish. But nope, any and all belly rubs are required at all times.

its hard trust me. it doesn't help that he is also suuuper vocal, so if i ignore him (like when i'm in a meeting) he will just start HOLLERIN' at me.

My cat used to hate being brushed! But once I started to scratch his lower back and against his fur, he began to love it... I can brush anywhere but the belly lol that's when he also activates demon mode and tries to bite my hand or the brush 😂😂

Try a softer brush or a silicone grooming glove for his ticklish areas. For my short hair cats I use an infant brush called Baby's First Brush. I also send one home in every foster kitten's Adoption Goody Bag with their favorite toys, baby blanket, medical records, microchip info, and favorite foods samples.

Give Dwight a head kiss from me! My tabbies, Dexter & Pete, say "Hello Dude!"

Wolfie doesn't get mats on his belly... Because every summer he licks all the fur off of his fupa! He looks like he has naked man boobs hanging down when he's runs around. Must feel good to lay on the cool floor or the damp concrete after sprinklers.
