I hope she finds the little male Autumn Meadowhawk 🪷♥️

I want to know what you think about what I made.

Female Copper Demoiselle (Calopteryx haemorrhoidalis)

I was researching dragonfly hunting for a short wildlife documentary and came across something fascinating.

In controlled observations, dragonflies have achieved prey-capture rates approaching 95%. What's more interesting is that they're not simply reacting faster than other predators. They use predictive flight control to intercept insects in midair.

Their brains are tiny, yet their visual systems can focus on one target even when surrounded by other moving insects.

I ended up making a documentary about the neuroscience behind it:

I'd be interested to hear what people who study insects think about the research.
