I’ve seen a lot of posts about this lately here, and I understand the want to make sure you aren’t stepping on toes when joining a community.
But the answer is always yes! You don’t need to be a certain gender or identify a certain way to do drag. It’s a form of art, it’s expression, it’s beautiful.
I’m a cis-het woman who has been doing drag professionally for 3 years. My identity has never been a point of discussion or contention both in bookings or at shows. If you’re fabulous, you’re fabulous, and that’s all that matters.
Please, never feel like you can’t do something because of your identity. That’s the complete opposite of what drag stands for. Drag is for everyone, it’s inclusive, and it’s exactly what you want it to be.
So wing out that liner, glue down that lace and go take the world by storm. God knows we need more beautiful resistance in this world right now.

To be clear, I have no problem with this area in my daily life, but as a beginner queen, it seems like I never see tummy rolls in successful drag - they're usually smoothed out. I'm wearing shape wear - I don't know how else to smooth them out!

Hey all, hope you're all doing well.
Got some questions I'm hoping I can get some assistance with. I've starting having some questions about my self, and to help answer those questions. I wanna try Drag. I've been to a couple shows and have had a blast just being in the audience.
I've worn some feminine clothing for some costumes and just being funny with friends who are clearing out their closets. Which made me realize it felt kinda right and good wearing those clothing items?? I dont know how else to describe it
I don't know if I'll like this long term, but I gotta try it to find out ya know? So where do I start? Should I just try making friends at my local speakeasy's and whatnot that I know are Drag friendly? I kinda wanna have someone dress me up so I can see but I understand that's asking a lot. So I'm just not sure how to go about this.
Anyways hope y'all have a good week, thank you!

fun lil flesh dress (+ matching gloves & panty) for my dragiversary !! i didnt think it would happen within a year but i got asked to perform at one of the more established clubs in my city which was really exciting ^_^
as usual, everything was handmade by me ! this project took about a week to make as i had to handsew everything, and the wig i used to stack was sooo dense so styling took kinda long (despite it just being a bats nest lol).
song was intruder by peter gabriel !! i'd been itching to do it since i started drag last year and i'm vv glad i finally got the chance >:D

Hi I was hoping to visit Australia to see relatives next summer and I wanted to use it as an excuse to see East Asia and while I was there it would be a dream to be able to perform in or at least see drag shows.
My question is where in East Asia has cool shows I should checkout and if the scene is more closed in different countries , I would love to ask about performing but I don't want to be seen as taking opportunities from local performers or be asking in a community that is more closed to new people.
\Not sure if this falls under the marketing section of the rules and sorry if it does\

Peter Packer did such a perfect job of embodying the stumbling, flirtatious disaster that is Jean-Ralphio! They brought the essence of the character from the show to life with their performance and absolutely made my night!

Ok so it’s a work in progress. It was Morticia two years ago and Chappell last year. Each Halloween it feels like I’m getting a little better (maybe I should practice year round instead of only Halloween).
So give me tips and advice as I work on my Cruella Drag costume for a party this Friday. I have other wigs I’m looking as well. Some longer.
3rd pic is one of me makeup free.

Hey hey, many moons ago I learnt so much by posting here and taking peoples feedback, so now I’d love to spin that on its head by giving out the advice to newer drag performers!
This is an in-depth tutorial on how I do my makeup routine, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask! I’m not saying I’m an expert with nothing to learn or anything, but I’d like to think I know a few more things than I used to!

Yesterday, it happend: I had my stage debut as a drag king at the competition "Best Drag of Bavaria Vol. 1".
And you won't believe it: I made it to the final round!!! I still can't believe it! (>w<)
The whole day was a rollercoaster of emotions, being panicked, excited, worried and hopeful. Now I know: This is where I am meant to be. Barely anything in my life has felt so right than standing on that stage and doing my thing.
I also understand my Jason way better now and know where I want to go with him. I have learned so much about him and myself, it is amazing.
For any new and aspiring drag artists who see this and who are scared of going on stage: Please do it. It is scary for everyone the first time, but believe me, you will grow so much, as a person and as an artist.

Hi Everyone!
I just recently moved across the country to New Orleans, and I know there's a big, vibrant drag scene here - but I'm having some trouble tuning my local algorithms to see where the smaller shows are or open calls for amateurs - especially kings.
Any advice on finding smaller shows / getting to know people would be appreciated!

hi all :) just getting into drag, my first look will be lady gaga on halloween. i have a few wigs that i plan on styling for different gaga looks in the future, and was wondering how you all store them if you have limited space? my room is tiny and i don't have a wig stand or anything like that, so storage tote seems the most likely candidate but I also don't want my hard work to be potentially crushed in the container. any tips will be greatly appreciated!!!!

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the proper place to ask. I'm walking the lip sync category at a ball next week and we just got the list of songs we have to do it to in the battles. I've literally never heard of any of them. There are six and I only got a week to learn them all. Any tip to efficiently memorize them?
