Hello. Really enjoy the Renegade Immortal donghua. However, a part of me always feels that I’m missing out because of poor translations.

It’s been a while since I watched so I was wondering what the subs landscape looks like.

I know of Bonobo and Hall of C. Are there any others I should know about? Please which of these would you regard as most faithful at conveying what’s actually brewing said?

Who is the person name that Wang Lin fights during the heavenly tribulation? We never got his name that I know of unless I missed it but I’m trying to find a picture online I can’t remember his name it was something like heavenly dao messenger or something but does this character have an actual name? He seems strong and I like his character design. I’m also confused with the power systems due to different translations changing the names

I would really really **REALLY*\* like to find a cultivation donghua more like the Wuxia classics of old with characters that actually have a personality and importantly a MC that isn't just aura farming the entire show. I grew up loving Wuxia and still do, Wuxia stories are some of my favorites still. I was reading manhua/manhwa since the start and I am completely burnt out on these stories where every story arc just serves to glaze the MC and characters are cardboard cutouts. I know some of these have good plots and that's great I am only focused on the cast being interesting though. I think the closest thing I've found is:

"Shaonian Ge Xing" - Great Journey of Teenagers

It's got a main cast instead of just an MC with a dynamic that isn't just purely for comedy ergo there's actual relationships that change and form and everyone has their own thing they do. Even if it gets a bit plot armorish towards the end for the real MC I especially like how Lei Wujie gets the heroes journey he is intentionally seeking but he's not perfect for it. IE he's not bloodthirsty, not literally perfectly calculating, etc but he gets his own story moments + romance. An example of what I HATE is funnily enough in the Drama adaptation of the show it specifically gives 2 powerups to Lei Wujie that he didn't earn himself it's just because he's friends with Xiao Se the real MC.

I'm **NOT SAYING*\* I need an expansive main cast I'm just saying I would like something to pull me in besides just the animation & combat. I've tried Soul Land which is the closest due to the depth of the world but the amount of glazing he gets on top of the amount of OP bullshittery was too much for me to tolerate. I also do not mind cheat abilities I just really really want something where the MC has meaningful conversations with other people and it's not just all backhanded deals and then the other characters muse about how cool & smart the MC was afterwards.

I watched Pull Strings the drama adaptation of My Senior Brother Is Too Steady and I quite liked it at first since he has dynamics with other people within the sect + comedy even when he's not with them, but that faded pretty fast. Past the first couple arcs it's just an escalation of power(I do like the combat in this show more than most since he's a trickster very Narutoesque) but he basically avoids all interaction now. There's characters with 3 hours of screentime who I've confused for others because they legit have nothing going on. They just exist to look like the cool general. I know these stories tend to have fast pacing as well and that's perfectly fine a more normal story pacing would be cool but not necessary I am well aware these are Progression Fantasy. I guess are there any cultivation donghua where the source material **ISN'T*\* from a serialized/self-published web novel? I'm betting that would have a higher chance of being what I want.

I will say I have heard good things about A Record of Mortal's Journey To Immortality I just haven't started it yet even though it has so many seasons.

According to the production team, the revisions are based on descriptions from the original novel. The changes include:
