Another accidentally hilarious Donegal Daily moment
His last sail was a bit too much for him though.

Found this wee guy on the road, pulled the car over and he came up to me, let me lift him in the car and just curled up in the footwell. He was in bad shape. Skin and bone, wheezing, drooling and sore eyes. Think he had a dose of cat flu or something. I didn't want to just leave him out there in the rain so dropped him off at Whitehouse vet. Was the closest.
He seems too friendly and trusting to be a stray. I hope someone recognises him.

It's interesting reading reports of the aftermath of Storm Beola as my house is still rattling in the wind and rain/wind and sun/wind and rain/wind and sun, and has been since Saturday
Taxi for Beola please

Greetings everybody, I recently found a job near Letterkenny and I'm looking to relocate so I come to this sub to ask a few questions.
Since I would love to travel a bit during my stay I was wondering if Letterkenny is in a good position to do so. In particular is it easy (and worth it) to travel to the northern beaches and forts? Do locals generally do that?
Is Kenny as a city much more convenient than other smaller villages nearby? For example Buncrana or Cunningham which would be closer to my work place. I see that most of these cities have at least a clinic and a supermarket but for a young person are they interesting to live in?
Is Derry a frequent weekend destination? Is it more active and lively as a city?
Thanks in advance for all the insights you will give me
EDIT: corrected some of the names

I’m a student from the Czech Republic studying in Letterkenny, and I’m currently living in rented accommodation.
Over time, I’ve bought a few things for everyday use, such as a toaster, a clothes-drying rack, an e-scooter, clothes, and other household items.
I’m planning to go back to my home country for 1–2 months during the holidays, and I’m wondering what I can do with all my belongings while I’m away.
I know selling everything is an option, but I’d rather not sell my stuff, especially since I’ll need it again when I return.
Are there any affordable storage options in Letterkenny, or any other solutions that students here use? For example, is it possible to store things somewhere temporarily or arrange something with other students?
I’d really appreciate any suggestions or advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation.
Thanks in advance! 😊

It's a dark stormy morning and you're passing a busy school at opening time, with many kids crossing the road. Put the phone away! Not just this driver either.

Like 10-12 years ago, when I was going out in Letterkenny, there used to be a shot that they would do in The Grill called "The Three Wise Men".
Google has brought up a different shot made of 3 whiskeys but this definitely wasnt that.
It was made up of equal parts of 3 different liqueurs, one of them was either White Rum or Sambuca I cant remember.
Anyone have any recollection of it?

Hi, we’re four friends putting together restaurants across Donegal in an app called Vota.
The idea is simple: you’re shown two restaurants and choose where you’d rather eat. For example, in Letterkenny: The Lemon Tree or Pat’s Pizza? The votes create a ranking that we hope gives a better picture of where people actually enjoy eating.
We’re trying to include as many restaurants as possible and clean up duplicate or outdated listings, but locals will spot things we’ve missed.
iPhone:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota/id6744969212
Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app
Full transparency: we’re not from Donegal. Two of us live in Copenhagen and two in Gothenburg. The four of us are building Vota independently. We don’t collect or sell personal data, there are no ads in the app, and we don’t use AI-generated restaurant descriptions.
Any honest feedback is welcome, especially if restaurants are missing or something is listed incorrectly. Where do you like to eat in Donegal?

As the title says is there anywhere that's particularly worth photographing in October/November in Donegal (given the weather and the lighting conditions) and why?
Thanks

I’ve been looking for ages now for people interested in starting a hardcore, post hardcore, 2nd wave emo or emo/shoegazey project.
I’m open to other genres as well!
Please message me if you’re interested!

Dia Daobh Dún na nGall! I'm just reminiscing about my holidays to Falcarragh every summer when I was a kid. Around 30 years ago or more I met a lad living in Falcarragh called Sean. He and his mum had moved over from Scotland. I used to meet up with him every summer. I'm just wondering if anyone in or around Falcarragh that knows him or knew him. Go raibh maith agaibh ✌🏻
EDIT: We used to sit in the pool room at the back of Coyles cafe

Hello,
We are going to travel to Ireland next week, we are going to spend there 8 days, with two little and very active kids (2 and 4 years old). We prefer the outdoor programs, not indoor museums, and safe ones (I am afraid that they can fall at Moher Cliffs, so now we skip). We plan to come back and explore the South -West part also later, so now I concentrate on North and West until Galway.
First day we get a car, go Wicklow Woods.
Second day we go Dublin in the morning and after near Donegal (accomodation).
Third-fourth day we spend there and visit Glenveagh National Park, Silver Strand,… Is there any nice place here to visit? Small ruins, castle, nice waterfall without a hiking?
Fifth day we go next to Galway. What to see on the way?
Sixth and seventh day visit Kylemore Abbey and garden, Connemara National Park.
Eight day maybe Kilkenny on the way to airport (evening flight).
We would like to have an easygoing holiday, I am sure we will stop next to the road if we see something cute, birds, ruins, lakes, etc. So I need your ideas about cute little “hidden gems” at this part of the country.
Thanks for your ideas!

Hi I am looking for somewhere to rent in the west of Ireland, I am a preacher of God and have been invited to speak at many events and church's up west of Ireland, I can pay the full rent in advance with a tenancy agreement of course, I am looking for a 2 bedroom preferably but a 1 bedroom would suffice, I do travel with my mother and two dogs so pets would have to be allowed, I can give references and more details if anybody could help or get back to me it would be much appreciated

Finn Harps voting comes up next week on the sale of the club to Freddy Gonzalez. What are your thoughts on the clubs potential (and highly likely) sale?
