The Mega thread for buying and selling advice is back, and will be updated biweekly!
There are far too many posts of people asking for personalized bike buying and selling advice. Per previous Mod actions, any posts about bike buying/selling advice that are not in this thread will be removed.
Here, those interested in giving feedback about your purchase or listing can offer it without every subreddit member being subjected to the same post dozens of times per day.
Topics to keep in the mega thread:

What's up guys? It's still a work in progress - and I'm new-ish to managing a discord server, so if you have experience/want to help out shoot me a message!
To be clear: This is NOT a replacement for the sub. It's totally optional. If there's interest, I'd be open to streaming the SX races in the server. The Discord server will also be great for asking questions that would violate our rules in here such as asking what bikes are worth and what not.
Just click the link and join! https://discord.gg/Xz3bJEhPRw

Hi, this is my 2013 RM-z 250. PLEASE WATCH THE WHOLE VIDEO.
I've never touched the triple clamps or any of the bolts, its straight, not tweaked by a crash or anything.
It does feel a bit nervous at high speed over rough small chatter, and it feels like the steering shouldn't be this easy to move, but I am used to my old KLX110r.
Do you think I need to tighten the steering? How tight do you have your steering, does it fall to the stops like mine?
Thank you in advance! :)

The suspention is fucked more than i can afford. I think im just gona botch it together and ride it untill the breaks fall off. I cant afford to fix this bike, stings like hell but ik i just cant keep it. The suspention isnt the only thing. The carb is fucked and the rear break and it is just gona cost more than it is worth to fix

How much is a reasonable cost for a top and bottom end rebuild on a cr125? I got one quote for $4,500 and one for $1,500

This may seem like a dumb question but are the tbi ktm fuel lines just annoying to clip together? It just didn't seem to pop on as cleanly as most bikes and i want nake sure I have it routed correctly.
The service manual is somewhat vague.
I absolutely love the bike and want to some peace of mind before I drive 3 hrs and do an 80 mile hare and hound this weekend.

So I found this bike near me for sale and I’m pretty certain the guy would take $1700 for it just cause he wants rid of it. It evidently runs excellent and has had a ton of documented recent work done on it. I was thinking of buying it just to tinker with and maybe restore a little, just to have something in the garage to wrench on. What are your all’a thoughts?

Hello people i’m going to get right to the point. I’ve never had or ridden a dirtbike and my brothers the complete opposite. he went to the navy 6 months ago and i rebuilt the top end and got the bike running first kick just like he had it before he stopped racing. now i’m really interested in it but damn it’s a big bike. 97yz250 2 st i’ve been riding around my yard just getting somewhat comfortable but that just seems like a lie to myself. i want to ride this bike im 5”9 160 so the bike is bigger than i am not smth easily thrown around. but in committed i start it first kick and ride but i would like some tips from people just to get comfortable and not be intimidated standing 9ft in the air, maybe its i’ve been injured and already done my fair share if dumb shit and i’m not 16 anymore but if anybody could give any tips or words in general im all ears.

I'm gonna buy an old dirt bike to repair and use but I wanted to know whats the best place to start? Like just on facebook marketplace finding an old bike or a guide? and from there how should i buy parts and is there a specific bike that would be best? As a new person to this kind of project a breakdown on the process or at least how to start would be very helpful.

I wear my SG12s and heated socks for winter riding but frequently break thru iced over puddles and my feet get wet and then my feet get really really cold.
There is still a lot of risk of getting smashed or crushed on rocks so I’m not sure if a snowmobile boot would be the right choice. Any wisdom? I don’t care how much they cost.

My son loved his tuttio arc1. He rides it everywhere. On the trails on the street. And anything that has broken so far tuttio customer support has warranted without a issue. I'm really glad I spent the extra money on this with the warranty. Kids are hard on thing. Tuttio has been the best for keeping the bike going. 5 star all day long.

I’m having an issue with the clutch in my 2001 RM 250. I replaced the clutch basket and clutch plates with a new stack and now my push rod/push piece will not engage the pressure plate. If I put my old clutch stack in it works fine but if I put my new stack in it’s too tall and the push piece doesn’t reach. The old stack is about 35 mm and the new stack is 37mm. Since the issue started I have also replaced the push rod the push rod cam shaft. I am tired of buying parts lol

Reuploading after getting the 04 back running. I wanna say I liked a single bike the most but they are all way too much fun

Some kind of repair around the kick start shaft. I bought it this way(real cheap) and have rode it for years pretending it’s not there, but finally must know!

considering trading my e-moto for a 2015 Suzuki RM85L 2-stroke. The seller says the clutch has an issue, and I’ve heard it might just need an adjustment, but I don’t know if anyone has actually diagnosed it.
I’m trying to figure out:
What could cause this type of clutch problem?
What should I ask the seller to check?
Would you consider this trade, or is it too risky without knowing the exact issue?
I can provide more details about what the clutch lever does and what happens when the bike is running.
Seller stated “clutch is out of timing”
Going pick it up Saturday

Hey guys I’ve had my TTR230 for about a year , just now trying to get some mods done to it, to my unfortunate realization that there is absolutely no aftermarket parts for this thing.
Any ways quick question short I’m looking into aftermarket exhaust. Is there any chance the is a direct mount aftermarket exhaust? Not just a slip on as I’m looking to get a little more power out of it.

Just bought this used MX Stand, and noticed the bike is leaning to its right quite alot. Im scared that something is gonna give out under load and it falls.
Should i be concerned

Been riding our local trail system here in CO (Rampart) for a decade plus, they’re bi directional. Have had many close call head on collisions but never any actual incidents until recently. Came out of a corner and zero time to do anything, just bad timing, we collided, I was on downhill side, I ate it and ended up down the hill along with my bike. Thankfully everyone was OK. I was sketched out every corner remainder of the ride.
With stuff like this part of me almost feels a groomed track with medical on site or close is safer than head on collisions in the middle of the woods with no cell service. Definitely researching other places to ride after this one though.
What do you all think?
