Tar Barrels 2026

My friends and I are trying to get to Ottery St Mary for Tar Barrels. Does anyone have a coach/large transport going down from Exeter that we can join?

It'd be great if we didn't need one of us to drive down. Happy to pay our way if needed!

Only ever driven. Always arrived well after 5, basically from 6-7 and there several dedicated fields opened up for parking on the road down into Ottery coming from the A30 exit, coming from exit. Utter nonsense comment

If you do have to drive go really early in the day. Like lunch time early. It’s always absolutely rammed from 5pm onwards to the point where you literally won’t find parking, and you’ll have to turn back to Exeter.

I went last year. I left home at 6:30pm and we arrived at 7pm. A30 side, towards Honiton. We parked at otter nurseries (that was the biggest expense at £20). Then walked into town.

Just get the 44A, might be busy though, then beg the uni tour bus for a lift back, worked for me 4 years going
