Recommendation Looking for a very specific therapist

I am a trans woman that's dealing with some personal issues and regret around my transition and handling the fallout of various decisions I made over the course of it. I'm looking for someone who has experience working with trans people that isn't going to dismiss my issues as internalized transphobia or blame them culture and/or politics when those have nothing to do with it.

Help Denver — ballots are due by 7pm Tuesday. If 134 & 135 are still on your "should figure out those props" list, here's the 10-minute version

EDIT: Tuesday, November 3rd
Practical post, no lecture. Denver, your ballot is on your counter right now, and every odd-year election the same thing happens: the people who agree hardest vote least, and margins get decided by whoever actually walked to a drop box. This is the ten minutes you need to finish yours.

The two measures eating this city's group chats:

Prop 134 requires every team in Colorado to be labeled male, female, or co-ed, K-12 through college so that's every DPS team AND every college team in Denver, from rec leagues up through Metro and CU Denver. Enforcement means sex verification of student athletes: the reporting that's come out describes doctor's notes and DNA swabs costing families hundreds of dollars, and any girl can be challenged by anyone with a grudge too tall, too strong, short hair. Denver schools have handled these situations case by case for decades, and nobody in the state even tracks how many trans kids play school sports because the number is tiny. We'd be building a statewide verification bureaucracy for a problem nobody can count.

Prop 135 bans gender-affirming surgery for minors. Colorado's own nonpartisan Blue Book flags the language as vague enough to sweep in surgeries for kids who aren't even transgender intersex kids included. Harvard research puts actual trans surgeries for teens 15–17 at roughly 2 per 100,000. And Colorado law already requires parental consent for any surgery on a minor. A near-empty ban with real collateral damage and an insurance knock-on for families.

Context both measures share: they bypassed Colorado's legislature on purpose lawmakers refused to pass this stuff because national organizers picked our state as a blue-state "testing ground." Denver knows this playbook: Amendment 2 in 1992 made us the Hate State, cost this city real boycotts and convention business, and took decades to live down. We've run this experiment before. We know the bill that comes with it.

The logistics the actual point of this post:

Your ballot is at your house (or your old address update at GoVoteColorado.com or vote in person)
NO on 134. NO on 135. Vote the whole sheet while you're at it Prop NN (school funding, Denver benefits directly) and Prop 137 (conservation) matter too
SIGN YOUR ENVELOPE. Missing or mismatched signatures are the #1 reason Colorado ballots get tossed and they're fixable through ballot cure if you catch it quickly
Denver drop boxes are everywhere and open 24/7 until 7pm Tuesday rec centers, libraries, the clerk's office downtown, all over the neighborhoods. No stamp, no line
Lost, damaged, or botched it? Any Denver vote center prints you a replacement through Election Day
Already voted? You're the backbone. Now text three Denver friends and ask if theirs is in. That's the whole margin in an election like this.
There will be a 400-comment war in this thread by tonight. Fine. But the actual decision doesn't happen in the comments it happens at drop boxes by 7pm Tuesday, November 3. Denver turned this state around once before, back when it counted. Let's do the ten-minute version this week.

NO on 134. NO on 135. Get it in the box.

I saw these empty boxes this morning on a bench outside an office building at 18th and Champa. If you are looking for these, very sorry for the loss. Hope you had some level of insurance or at least a catalog of your collection. Thieves are the worst.

Recommendation Looking for recommendations for an employment lawyer in/near Denver (preferably Thronton area, but willing to make a trip south if needed!

I am looking for anyone that has used (or hell, even had a friend of a friend of a cousin's twice removed uncle) that has a good experience with an employment attorney. Think wage theft, underpaying employees for their time working and simply not paying at all. I looked through Google and I know Denver has a ton of great attorney's, and I know reviews are vastly different because someone didn't get what they hoped or wanted so them and their family left bad reviews. etc. If someone can PLEASE recommend a GOOD employment attorney, I would greatly appreciate it! I am tired of looking at a million attorney's then them FINALLY getting back to me after a week or more then saying "we can help! we just need a $550 consult fee for 20 mins. Like, I have not been paid in weeks so $550 is not really an option at this point!

Lost/Found Can someone get a picture of a sticker I saw at FOTM?

Hey Denver! I was at FOTM in the Highlands last week. We sat outside on the covered patio near the door. There was a sticker on the wall that I forgot to take a picture of! It was of a very happy dude's face, with a bunch of greenery, and the text on the sticker said something along the lines of, "Pee on your plants!"

Would someone be so kind to take a picture of that sticker for me? Bonus if anyone can tell me where I can get one of those stickers or a magnet or something!

Thank you!

Recommendation Where can I get the best chicken parm in Denver?

Specifically, I’m looking for a chicken parm sandwich. I’ve found some solid Italian dinner places with good chicken parm entrees, but really have my mind set on a delicious chicken parm sandwich. So far, the best chicken parm I’ve found by far is at Lou’s Italians specialties. It’s expensive, but it’s very good. Are there any other places in the greater Denver area that have really good chicken parm sandwiches? I’d be willing to drive.

Recommendation How’s the Albanian community in Denver?

Having lived in Chicago, there was a pretty big Albanian community that I unfortunately never sought out. I know the east coast a lot more Europeans in general but I was curious about Denver.

Moving/Relocation Looking for good gyms near uptown

Howdy folks! My friend and I are going to move to uptown soon and I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for good gyms.

Right now I go to planet fitness and I've tried many of the ones in Denver, but they are all just a little more out of the way than I would like as I work in city park.

I am not that big of a gym bro, but I would really like to have at least a hack squat machine.

I also just tried Carla Madison rec center and I wasnt a huge fan since they didn't have hack squat, some of the leg machines didn't go too heavy, and it got crowded quick.

I keep trying to look on Google but I am getting a little overwhelmed so I figured I would ask here to see if anyone here has a good gym they go to.

I also don't want to pay too much haha and I'm not opposed to just staying at PF, but thought it would be fun to try and switch it up since I have the opportunity.

Thank you!

Recommendation Just moved to Denver - sports recommendations?

Hey everyone! I just moved to Denver (north Cheesman area) and usually meet people through sports.

Looking for pickup games, rec leagues, or regular groups to join. Open to basketball, pickleball, volleyball, or pretty much anything.

Any recommendations for specific locations or groups where it’s easy to show up and play regularly?

Misc Q&A Recommendations for an independent vehicle appraiser (diminished value claim)?

Hi all, my car was involved in a multi-car collision and I want to file a diminished value (DV) claim. Can anyone recommend a reliable independent appraiser in the Denver area?

If you've used one, I'd love to know:

How much they charged

How long the report took

Whether the insurer accepted it or you had to push back

NOTE: Statefarm is the insurance carrier of the at fault driver. I own a Jeep Cherokee 2018, no prior accident or damage. Repairs were completed at Crash Champions

Thanks in advance!

Recommendation Non private equity Vet recommendation for cats

• Upvotes

Hiya all!

One of my cats has started pulling her fur out around their evening feeding time. I reached out to her old vet in Texas and they said it could be feline hyperesthesia or focal seizures. They recommended recording more and monitoring but said she could be looked over. Alas we are 900 miles away!

Anyone know of a local vet that could look over and test her for possible diagnosis?

Help Sewer problems in AMLI golden triangle

Hey folks! I am here Amli Golden Triangle. Wanted to see if anyone else here has moved in to the building. Does anyone else have waste water in your shower drain? I literally have a video showing this(hired a plumber) with floaties and toilet paper and everything and the management is denying that there is an issue. They hired a sewer person who scoped the ptrap, said it was fine but then when asked what it could be he stated he wasn't hired for anything besides the scope. If you could let me know if anyone has any sewer smell in your unit or if you have any sewer smell coming through on your clothes through the washer I would so appreciate it!
