not sure but they might have touched up her hair color with a wee bit extra red. I have always wondered how the same dress that the hologram is wearing in this scene shows up on Kira in future episodes when she is going to Vic's. Does Garak do custom recreations of holographic outfits or do you pay quark a little extra to have it replicated into matter that can be removed from the holosuite.

I've always hated this episode, but not for anything in it. Whenever it's on, I know I've just missed the preceding episode...In the Pale Moonlight.

Absolutes like 'best' are hard to qualify absent the context of 'best in what way'.
Pale Moonlight is a top contender in most contexts. Some would say it is 'as good as it gets'.

They did OK -- not as good as Rita Moreno and Animal on the Muppet Show, but OK.
Still, there was a war on yet an entire episode was dedicated to the love life of a shapeshifter and a terrorist.
6/10.

I love Moreno & Animal's cut of this. 'It's not nice bobo' said the lady.

rewatching AR-558 is what gives me the most cringe. Watching Odo's brain melt as he tries to cope in this one was hard the first 100 times I saw it. I love the music in this episode so much that is actually a low estimate on how many times I have played it in the background while building castles in Minecraft.

The episode that took my wife from "I'll watch if you're watching" to "dont you dare watch without me."
