Just finished this game after 60+ hours, and honestly, what an experience.

The zombie horde system is absolutely insane, and playing this on an ultrawide monitor with everything cranked up to Ultra makes the world look ridiculously good. Sometimes I’d just stop the bike, take in the scenery, and enjoy the atmosphere.

I genuinely loved the slower pacing of the story. It gives you time to connect with the characters, and Deacon’s relationship with Boozer was one of my favourite parts of the whole game. Deacon himself is such a great character.

And the bike mechanics! The way your bike becomes part of your journey, managing fuel, upgrading it, and actually feeling attached to it is something I haven’t really experienced in other games.

I usually play games on PC with a keyboard and mouse, and this was my first game using an Xbox controller. Absolutely loved it.

This is one of those games I know I’ll come back to every once in a while, just to ride around, enjoy the scenery, take down some freakers, and relive the experience.

Really wish more people gave this game a chance. ❤️

I’ve been thinking a lot about Bend Studio lately and where they fit into PlayStation’s first-party lineup.

I’m personally a huge fan of Days Gone. I thought the open-world systems, the motorcycle physics, and managing the dynamic Freaker hordes were super fun. However, we all know the reality: despite solid long-term sales, it underperformed critically compared to Sony’s strict "prestige single-player" standards (God of War, The Last of Us, Spider-Man).

That puts Bend in a really tricky spot. Looking across PlayStation Studios, almost everyone has a distinct, carved-out identity:

Sucker Punch: Feudal Japan / Historical Open-World (Ghost)

Insomniac: Marvel Superheroes & High-Tech Action (Spider-Man, Wolverine)

Sony Santa Monica / Naughty Dog: Cinematic Prestige Narrative (God of War, TLOU)

Guerrilla: Post-Apocalyptic Sci-Fi (Horizon)
Bend, on the other hand, seems trapped without a clear identity.

Some people suggest they should go back to their roots with a modern tactical spy/espionage game (Syphon Filter style), but honestly, I think that’s a tough sell right now. The stealth-espionage genre is brutally hard to monetize and capture AAA audiences with today—even giants like Ubisoft and Kojima have struggled to hit the mark cleanly in that specific space.

To me, reviving a legacy PlayStation IP feels like one of the few plausible ways for the studio to land a guaranteed hit and survive without getting absorbed or repurposed.

The problem? Relying on someone else’s legacy IP isn't a sustainable long-term strategy if a studio wants to build its own lasting legacy.

What do you guys think? Is there an unclaimed genre or setting where Bend could launch a new IP that doesn't step on the toes of Sony's other heavy hitters? Or is taking over a classic franchise like inFAMOUS or Resistance their safest bet?

I'm new to the game, so cut me some slack if I mess up some details. I was playing and then I got the notification to do the Belknap Caves Ambush Camp (which was a giant pain in my ass) and halfway through the mission after I blew up the gate, a giant horde came through and just killed them all for me and then didn't even come to kill me, they just left and now I have like a bajillion bounties.

Reading all of these stories has got me thinking about something. I'd always assumed that since the cold makes the Freaks stronger, it made sense for them to move up the highways. Since north is colder, it made sense. And I thought it's genius that Kouri went to Reno, a hot place, where they'd be weaker. But reading all these got me thinking: How do the Hordes know where to go? Like how can they tell that this spot has a cave or a building they can sleep in? Is there a scout Freaker of some sorts? An infected fly? But now I know. The line that kept repeating in the game was "Hordes love to move up and down the highways". So earlier in the outbreak, the Freaks had no vestigial memory. They went up and down looking for food and shelter. Or they stayed where they were or nearby. But as they evolved, even the stragglers that started building nests, Hordes started forming and hanging out in places they used to live. Vestigial memory started showing its first signs. And that's why when we clear a horde, it never comes back. It's gone forever. Cause a new one is not coming to replace it. That's not its home.

Hello, today I noticed a strange bug, I bought a new sniper gun and swapped it for the RPD, now I want to replace it again for the RPD, but I don't find it anymore in the gun lock. I tried different ones but it appears to be unavailable, unfortunately I'm in that part of the game when I can't go south, so can't visit the merchant that sells it, anyone has found this bug before?

Because I couldn't figure out how to really finish it. I've just started a new game and it says the 'He's my brother' mission is only 12% complete but it doesn't give me any more missions to actually complete it. How do I find what I need to do next in order to finish the missions? TIA

My question is whether there could be a roadmap to new content, gun upgradables, traps and maps..

The remaster says there’s gotta be a team who can and has worked on this. Surely a mini drop or several mini drops is needed? The DLC was class but there needs to be more mini drops.

Either by bend or Modders. It would be class if modders just gave this tons of content. Maps, challenges.
You could even do unlimited horde who are always chasing but you gotta get from one side of the map to the other or something?

It was such a drag at the start and I took lots of breaks. It took me years to finally finish it and when I binged and beat it, it just STUCK. It’s a bit clunky and the story takes time to get a hang of but it’s such a fun game overall. I love the environment and the plot twist in the end. The writing could’ve been better but I enjoyed it

I play a lot using the "New Game" mode, and
I typically use a trainer to speed up the game during cutscenes or
dialogue sequences. However, the speed reverts to normal
whenever characters talk to each other,
which is quite frustrating. Is there a way to fix this,
or perhaps an alternative method?

I’d like to use 'speed mode' even when having conversations.

All of a sudden I cannot equip my special weapon or my distraction tools. Idk what is going on. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this? I’m not in a mission. I’m just roaming the open world. I’ve restarted the game five times and it still isn’t working.

I’m not a modded and I’m unfamiliar with the process that goes into making a mod. I know there are mods in this game but clearly there isn’t a whole lot.

What’s stopping from modders from making more content in the game like other heavily modded games? Is there something lacking in the tech used in DaysGone or something they doesn’t make it possible?

I love open world apocalyptic games. I love zombies, and I love Sam Witwer as an actor. Days gone is an open world zombie apocalypse game with Sam Witwer being the main character you play.

On paper, it sounds awesome, but I keep losing interest so quickly, and I think it's just because of the lack of direction and seemingly very harsh crafting requirements.

Like, I got to one of those NERO checkpoint on the map, just to discover there was a horde there. I have nothing to fight that with. Ammo is scarse and so are crafting mats if you don't know what you're looking for.

Got my ass handed repeatedly so gave up to do some other quest. Now, I need to destroy 6 nests when I can only carry 3 molotovs and I don't even have enough materials to craft another one. Had 3 of them and used them on 3 nest.

Each nest had like 3-4 zomvies that crawled out. I am now out of ammo, as well as molotovs, and I don't even know how to farm for them. I'm starting to think this just may not be a game for me, which sucks because again, I really want to like it

Just finished the game again. I absolutely love it. I was just wondering what all yours favorite camp was. For any reason. The location. The people. How it relates to the story. Your favorite exploration spot. As for me, I love the Lost Lake Camp. For the characters and how the weather can change so quickly on you. I absolutely love the snow. So cool. A fantastic game.

It wasn't that long ago I got a warning about being locked out of the Northern Region. I can't keep up with these locked outs. I was just getting settled in the Southern Region. Forgot your CoD & Battlefield Days Gone at the top. Did that horde in the cave. I put down a Distractor down then blasted them with my MG45.
