• Memorial - R.I.P. • Boba Fett passed away yesterday Spoiler
galleryBoba was 8 1/2 years old and was very loving, energetic, and playful all the way up until yesterday morning when he passed away suddenly just ten minutes max after his normal morning thoughts to me daring to need to get ready for the day. He was a dog that was very insistent on pjs and sweaters and rain coats but despised boots. He was a big Squishmallow thief…. Once he decided he loved a Squishmallow, he would declare it as his. He loved tug of war, car rides, puddles, mud, balls, walks, and treats that met his approval. He hated rain and baths and feet. He also loved to be under blankets and cuddle as much as possible no matter how hot it made any of us.
Not sure why I am posting this and I can safely say we are all over here devastated and shocked, but I guess I just wanted someone outside of us to know that he existed and he was the best dog ever.

• Advice (General) • Dog breed recommendations for a calm, low-maintenance family watchdog
Hi everyone! We’re looking for our first family dog and would appreciate advice based on our situation.
We live in Biñan and want a medium-sized dog that can be a good watchdog and family companion. My wife is afraid of dogs, and our daughter is somewhat nervous around them, so we need a calm, manageable breed—not an aggressive attack dog.
I’m away for work on a schedule of one month home and about two months away, so we also need to consider who will handle the dog’s daily care and training while I’m gone.
What we’re looking for:
● Calm, loyal, and somewhat reserved with strangers
● Alert and willing to bark when someone approaches
● Moderate energy; relaxed indoors
● Medium-sized, ideally 15–25 kg
● Low-maintenance grooming and minimal odor
● Able to cope safely with the Philippines’ hot, humid climate
● Suitable for first-time owners and a family initially nervous around dogs
My wife would prefer the dog to stay outdoors most of the time, so I’ve designed a shaded, sheltered dog house with ventilation, fresh water, and protection from rain and heat. However, we want to make sure any breed we choose can genuinely handle the climate and outdoor conditions. We understand that extreme heat can still be dangerous.
I initially considered a Chow Chow because I like its calm, independent personality, but I’m concerned about its thick coat, the climate, and whether it’s suitable for inexperienced owners. I’ve also considered a Shiba Inu, but I’m unsure whether its energy level and temperament would be a good fit.
We’re open to purebred dogs or Aspins, and we’d also consider adopting a calm adult dog with an established temperament.
Questions:
1. Which breeds would you recommend?
2. Are there calm, naturally alert breeds that aren’t excessively territorial?
3. Would an adult dog be a better choice than a puppy for our situation?
4. What should we expect in terms of daily care, training, and exercise while I’m away?
We want to choose responsibly based on our family’s lifestyle, not just appearance or guarding ability. Thanks for your advice! 😊

Looking through my pics of my babies and wanted to share 💙🩵
Meet my two pups Benji (12 yrs pomchi) and Jake (6 yrs lab cross vizsla) we rescued Benji when he was 2 from woodgreen and then rescued Jake from Romania when he was 5months. The introduction period was a bit rocky but with lots of training, patience & socialising Jake early on (which we hadn’t got chance with Benji) they both now love each other. Learnt a hard lesson that small “cute fluff balls” can be the most meanest bullies! 🙈😂 Benji is stubborn but I worked hard on training him as well and as can see from pictures (although Benji is the boss still) they get on great and in a way I do think Jake has had Benji act as his “dad” with teaching him boundaries etc. A lot of work goes into having decent dogs I believe and I’m glad I stuck to it , even when I thought I’d made a bad decision. Love my boys and would be lost without them 💙🩵🐶🐶 less

I don’t know what I did to be lucky enough to have this boy for so long. Meet Kuma! I adopted him from the shelter when he was 7 months old and he’s been my companion through several moves, including our latest to Long Beach. Never did I think k he’d be around this long.
Yes, he is still this energetic even though he’s ancient AND he’s in tip top shape to boot! This boy LOVES life.

• Advice (General) • What kind of ball is this?
Previous owner accidentally left this in the attic my dog freaking loves it, it bounces further than any ball I have ever played with. It’s not a racquetball idk if it’s like a lacrosse ball or something. That’s my best guess.
