Totally unexpected and perfect use of Bartender: Midnight Mass (Netflix)

I REALLY enjoyed the Carrie series on Prime and have started going down the Mike Flanagan rabbit hole. He's an amazing showrunner!

I am on episode 2 of Midnight Mass and there is a poignant scene where the church is having "crock pot fest" on Ash Wednesday and you get little backstories on the characters with the looming presence of the new priest on the island. There's a cover band on a trailer and when the scene starts it's another song but as the protagonist of the show -- a former convict who leaves the island weekly to go to AA meetings, you can hear the cover band playing Bartender. It took me 2.5 listens to make sure it was it but it's there once you hear it!

Is Mike Flanagan a Dave fan? It's literally the perfect song for the context of the scene. But if you don't hear it, like I almost didn't, you'd miss the message.

Gorge Camping Prices

Just a heads up and to plan ahead because camping prices will likely go up “significantly” for the Gorge and other music venue camping locations. The first tickets for 2027 at the Gorge are going on sale and it doesn’t sound good.

Baltimore

• Upvotes

Heading to the Baltimore show on 11/10 and looking for some tips on the area. The wife and I are heading down on Monday night. Looking to get a hotel for Monday night and Tuesday night that we can walk to and from the arena. Going back and forth between the Marriott at Camden yards, Hilton by Camden Yards, Residence Inn, and Kimpton Hotel Monaco. How are these walks to/from the arena? Safe to walk late at night? Anyone with experience in these hotels?

Also looking for a dinner recommendation for Monday night. We just had our 20th anniversary, so something a little nicer.

Any pre show meet up spots for pre show close by?

And the betting Money has to be on them playing Raven right?

Looking for high-quality unreleased studio and rare live files

I am working on a big local file upload of unreleased/rare DMB studio and live material. While there are tons of YouTube uploads, the audio quality on these isn't great compared to other file versions. I already have LWS and Batson Sessions downloaded, but I have had a hard time finding any other ones. If anyone has links to some good high-quality unreleased or rare studio/live material, pls drop the link here!

I know antsmarching has a large number of live show downloads, but I am looking for more 'rarer' stuff that is not on streaming (think sister '94, How Many Nails, 41 Police). That being said, if you know a show with one of these rare ones, lmk ill go and download it.

I am looking for a couple specific ones too: Beach Ball, How Many Nails, Spotlight (studio)

Like I said, tryin to avoid youtube videos bc the audio isn't great on those. It would also be great to have a thread of these files that isn't like 10 years old and all the links are broken.

Edit: Here is a link of some of the stuff I have compiled: DMB Google Drive Folder I have added some of the things people in this thread have sent to me. If anyone has any more unreleased ESPECIALLY studio stuff pls pm me and I’ll add it. Might make another post so more people can see this cause ik it can be hard to find these files sometimes.

I just saw on FB that Dave did a private show last night in NYC to about 100 people and it was hosted by Will Arnett. Does anyone have any info about this?

Thanks!

Stumbled upon this gem. Seems hauntingly soothing. Apparently recorded around the Stand Up era.

Generation X. What drew you to DMB?

There was a lot of music available in the early 90s. What drew you to the Dave Matthews Band?

For me, it was the mix of musicians – their styles and different instruments. A violin and a saxophone – with a guy who writes great lyrics and the best drum crusher in the business? Not to mention Fonz’s story.

What was your draw in 1995?

Find Amy!!!

My daughter found this Koozie on the ground leaving Deer Creek this year. I can’t believe she found this after we just drove down from Wisconsin. My wife, daughter and I are huge Dave and Brewers fans(actually just me) lol. I have no clue who Amy is???? But she has been to every single playoff game at Miller Park so far in spirit through this Koozie. She’s our lucky charm we haven’t lost at home yet. Please let me know if anyone knows who she is. Let’s go Brewers and I love Dave!!!!! Maybe we can meet up in Madison on the 4th.

Am I completely off my rocker or would this be perfect? Is it maybe too obvious? Listening to that bass line, I can't help but think of Zep. Sharing the closest thing I can find to the full band performing it.

Phillip Phillips Interview

Singer, songwriter, American Idol winner, and DMB fan Phillip Phillips joins us this week on the pod to talk about performing "The Stone" on Idol, skipping school for his first concert ever - a DMB show, and how his perspective and songwriting has changed now that he is a husband and father of 2. Much like his new brand new EP, "Let's Go Far: Vol. 1", Phillip was very open and honest throughout the conversation, and proving that he truly is very down-to-earth, genuine human.

We really enjoyed this one and hope you all do too!
