DCC Compiled Free Resource List 2026
The prior list is a little out of date and the file ownership if held by another user who isn't active much these days and confirmed they aren't maintaining the list anymore. I've taken it upon myself to keep the list updated and check the links every few months while adding things I find. I will continue to keep the new free resource list updated and links checked for the foreseeable future.
For anyone who wants to have their free content added to this list, please let me know and i will make sure to get it listed, all you need to do is provide a link in the comments or in DMs.

1-Shot Adventure Advice for New DCC Group?
Hello all! Part of an experienced table of GMs and players and would like to prep a 1-shot to show off DCC (my first time running) for the group. Am being very clear on the casual nature of just having some fun but I'm uncertain WHAT to run.
What I have read -- and my plan -- is to NOT do a funnel. That doesn't show off the system. So advice I've seen online is ~L2 adventure. Problem is, I'm not sure which are good for a 1-shot with limited playtime (~5 hours) and show off the mechanics of DCC well.
Here's the L2 adventures I have access to via a bundle a few years ago:
- Dread on Demon Crown Hill
- By Mitra's Bones, Meet Thy Doom!
- The Inn at Five Points
- Night of the Bog Beast
- Against the Thieves Guild
If there's something you really strongly recommend, I suppose I could snag it. Any advice? Pitfalls to avoid? DCC is new to myself as well so I'm not going to pretend I've got this all figured out! Thank you!
[Edit] Shoot! Forgot I also have Tome of Adventure, Vol. 1, so I also have:
Doom of the Savage Kings (L1)
People of the Pit (L1)
The Emerald Enchanter (L2)

Opinion of the Group Consensus of the Group re AI
I’ve locked the recent post for now while we talk through how our rule should apply. The rule says no AI-generated stuff, but there’s more nuance here than that phrase covers.
Do we want to prohibit any use of AI, or only material that’s substantially generated by it? Where do we draw the line between AI-generated and AI-assisted? Is using AI to edit or polish text okay? What about images, brainstorming, or other uses? I’m not sure a percentage threshold—50%, 48%, whatever—would give us a workable answer.
AI tools are improving quickly. Before long, it may be difficult to tell where the creator’s work ends and the machine’s contribution begins. Would a disclosure requirement, like the AI content statements some writers use on Substack, be clearer and easier to apply?
I’m not advocating for a particular answer. I want to hear what the group thinks, and I’ll abide by the consensus.
One request before this gets lively: argue the position, not the person. Please explain your case, reasoning, and beliefs without making it personal.

Campaign / World Design Help
Hello everyone.
About two weeks ago I ran my first session of DCC it was pretty well.
Scheduling issues happened but should be running my second funnel soon, followed by a level 1 adventure. (I chose Queen of Elflands son)
Right now I will just be putting my players whereever the module starts off as just to experience the story.
But I would like to start to work on more open style of play where my players can go off and do whatever a bit more.
Does anyone have a world map they use? Like have you guys placed the modules down or what are you guys using for the blueprints for your worlds?

Dragon Kings for Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG Now on Backerkit!
I take a look at the Backerkit campaign for Dragon Kings for Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG! I wrote 2 spells as a contributing writer for this awesome core rulebook! Back it today!
Dragon Kings, unlike traditional fantasy, is set on a world nearing the end of days called Khitus. The Dragon Kings, once benevolent rulers, left Khitus. Since the golden age of the Dragon Kings' rule has ended, the world has declined. Water mysteriously vanishes; the iron virus eats away at iron and alloys; wizards must contend with sorcery's wrath, a mystical affliction that can harm them, allies, or the very world when they wield magic; mind benders roam the world with a mix of intentions. Welcome to Khitus, a brutal world where only the strongest survive.
Within this 8.5" x 11", approximately 150-page black-and-white rulebook, you'll discover everything you need to bring the savage world of Dragon Kings to your Dungeon Crawl Classics adventures, including:
2 Brand-New Character Classes – Forge your destiny with exciting new ways to survive the dangers of Khitus!
4 New Race-Classes – Discover unique peoples of Khitus, each bringing new abilities and opportunities for adventure.
Psychic Powers – Unleash the extraordinary power of the mind!
New Wizard Spells & Patrons – Harness dangerous sorcery and forge pacts with powerful entities.
Deadly Environmental Rules – Brave the unforgiving wastelands, where the world itself can be your greatest enemy.
Terrifying New Monsters – Encounter deadly creatures unlike anything you've faced before.
And Much More! – New mechanics, challenges, and surprises await those bold enough to venture into Khitus!

DCC Common human NPC stats
Good day! New to DCC, and I know that several NPCs exist in the DCC Core Rules such as Bandit, etc. Is there a resource that has NPCs that are commonly found in urban adventures such as militia, guard, soldiers, clerics, things of that nature? I'm preparing to run some urban adventures and would love to have some stat blocks, as I figure my PCs may indulge in "shenanigans" in the City-State.
Thanks!

Fate's Fell Hand tips
Does anyone have any tips for running this? I have never really run an open ended module like this before, and Im not too sure how to prep for it or how much I have to prep for the first session.
Also, I have some questions about the module.
If a mage is slain, but their card isn't taken do they just come back the next day? Also Darjr, if the PCs decide to help him, is there any real way to? Im not sure how they would be able to deliver the plaques to him.

Has Anyone Played NetCrawl Yet?
I've heard about NetCrawl a few times on Spellburn and just came across the book on Exalted Funeral recently, but, man, asking $50 for a pdf is a lot. I don't mind the book being $60 because it's full color, but that's steep for something with no preview.
So far the only reviews or experiences I've heard are people who have reviewed it and nothing else (unless I'm not searching hard enough).
Anyone here taken the plunge yet?
Adventures Running The one who watches from below in a single session - advice wanted
I'm running The one who watches from below tomorrow for some (5) friends.
Some of them want to roll 0 level characters, funnel style, but one of them wants to play a level 1 wizard (yeah, weird mix but still).
I would like to run it in a single session, since one of my friends lives in a different town and we don't know when he'll visit again. So I wanted to ask for tips to compress it.
We like tactical combat and are going to use miniatures and a battlemat, but I know that if I abuse the frequency of combats it might consume too much time.
What encounters with combat potential do you think are the malt exciting and which ones would you take away to save time?
I know the "breeding chambers" could be taken away, but I kind of love their "body horror" vibe, so would like to keep them.
I'm also a bit scared about a player receiving the curse and not enjoying it because he can't talk, thus getting bored. How did it work in your games?

Aereth interactive map?
While looking around i found this post which linked to the Goodman Games Website. It seems that it used to be interactive but that functionality is gone. Has anyone looked into restoring that functionality or is there another version out?
I am considering doing this for myself and would be happy to share with the community. my Goal here is to mark all 52 of the original dungeons on the map and slowly fill in details i can about towns, cities, and land marks over time using information from the gazetteer & Whiterock. I would also like to try and sort of place the newer adventures (when they reference locations in Aereth)
Anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm thinking i would probably end up doing it in Canva, for lack of a better resource. If anyone knows a better way to host it, I wouldn't mind suggestions.

Adventures Bride of the Black Manse question
I’m running this at the weekend and looking forward to it. Maybe a silly question, but what happens if the PC playing Lady Ilse dies before meeting Mammon?
Dragon Kings for DCC RPG!
If you're like me and have a special place in your heart for the Dark Sun setting from the 90s, you'll be happy to know: A. that one of its original creators, Tim Brown, has designed a setting called Dragon Kings, that he presents as his "spiritual successor" to Dark Sun, and B. that John Watson, of Rugby Melee Games, is bringing it to DCC RPG.
The crowdfunding campaign is live on Backerkit right now, it's already funded and it's certainly worth checking out!
I'm not involved in the project, just very excited about it.

Crazy XCrawl bundle deal
Hey gang, kinda new to DCC but just wanted to throw out this heads-up.
I saw this crazy bundle deal advertised on Goodman Games’ site - 41 pdf books (all XCrawl Classics) for like $17, with a coupon to get a softcover copy of the main rulebook for $10.
Wish a bundle for DCC would come up like this, but I’ll take what I can get!

For Sale (not spam) Appendix N fans take note
backerkit.comhttps://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lovecraftdocumentary/h-p-lovecraft-when-the-stars-are-right
Hey everyone. As you may know, I've got an adventure in crowdfunding right now, Veins of the Fallen (obligatory link here), but there is something else in crowdfunding that I think you REALLY aught to know about.
Some forty years ago, a filmmaker set out to make the first film about H.P. Lovecraft. They ran out of funding and were never able to complete the film, although about a half our of footage was shown at the Lovecraft Centennial Conference in 1990. The film sat in cans until 2021 when the filmmaker decided to attempt to scan and restore the footage and finish the film.
This film includes interviews with...
L. Sprague de Camp
Catherine Crook de Camp
Frank Belknap Long
Ramsey Campbell
Colin Wilson
The list goes on. But folks like de Camp and Long? These are people who knew Lovecraft. Hearing what they have to say is a unique opportunity to really learn about Lovecraft as a whole. They even interviewed Lovecraft's former neighbor, whose husband was the model for Charles Dexter Ward!
If you have any interest in Lovecraft, his contemporaries, and his impact within Appendix N, I urge you to check this project out.

Spellcasting
How does spell casting differ between DCC, MCC, Umerica, DE and any other applicable games?
I just picked up MCC and I’m reading through it. The mutations seem great, but the Shaman spells not so much? Am I missing something?
Cheers for any insight!

Opinion of the Group Crit success on reversing a curse Spoiler
I'm running The One Who Watches from Below for my DCC group. One PC got The Curse and my rest of the crew put everything together to reverse it, per the special ritual. The two spellcasters in the group added a huge number of bonuses to the roll - spellburn, voluntary corruption, circle of mages, you name it. And then the player of the lead caster rolled a natural 20 at the table last night.
I feel like this deserves some special outcome, but all the ideas I'm thinking up are boring. So, I'd love to hear your creative ideas for an extra special effect of reversing the curse, maybe something permanent. I'm putting the Spoiler tag on the post so let 'er rip.
Can’t download my pdf
I have bought a book, where I can download a pdf of the book. But the webpage is broken. There is no place I can enter my redeem code.
