Discussion Do cricket records need separate categories?
Is it just me or does anyone else find this a bit annoying?
India reached 100 in 5 overs today, which is apparently the second fastest in all T20s. The record is held by Eswatini, who did it in 4.5 overs against Mozambique earlier this year (as per cric info)
I mean no disrespect to the players, but Eswatini vs Mozambique? 😠How are we comparing these records directly with matches involving top international teams?
I feel there should be separate records for Test playing nations or at least associate nations that have taken part in the main ICC events such as World Cups. Because there's obviously a difference in the level of competition.
Not saying those other players don't deserve credit, but surely the opposition and level of competition should count for something when we talk about records?
Or am I the only one who feels this way?
PS - Another one below! No disrespect to Karanbir Singh.
"3 T20I innings with ten or more sixes for Abhishek, after he hit 11 in Wellington. Austria's Karanbir Singh (5) is the only other batter to do it more than twice"
Austria??
