RECOMMENDED Had this last night
This was mad! I don't really know how to describe it, kinda had a spon sort of taste but was also smokey and slight whiskey finish on the end.

Grand Rapids, MI beer-cation complete!
Didn’t really get to go downtown (friend lives in Cascade), but man Grand Rapids is blessed!
Special shoutouts to these breweries—they were the ones I visited!
Beer Church Brewing (Stopped in New Buffalo)
Thornapple Brewing
Broad Leaf (AMAZING venue, thanks Danny for all the samples!)
Schmoz Brewing (Rare to find dive bar breweries!)
Gravel Bottom Brewing (I think pound for pound my favorite)
Our Brewing (Really really nice taproom and patio)
Vivant Brewing
Speciation Cellars (My personal favorite 😃)
Burn Em Brewing (Stopped in Michigan City—DELICIOUS polish smoked lager and an insane Italian beef!)

Fantastic Barleywine
Description from Untappd-
Built from the last fourteen barrels of April’s Peach Brandy [Barrel] D.B.V.S.O.J., this version is embellished with both fire-toasted French oak, and unfermented peach & apricot.
The nose is layered stone fruit, with peach coming from both barrel and fruit, flanked by malty caramel, and oaken, smoky vanilla from the medium-slow fire-toasted French lumber.

Cracked open the 2026 release of Half Acre’s Double Barrel Wilderness of History. Two rounds in bourbon barrels, and it shows.
Pours nearly black with a thin tan collar that fades fast. Nose is toffee, brown sugar and dark raisin with a clear bourbon lift. Palate is rich and a touch vinous — caramelized malt, dark fruit, a little oak and vanilla, finishing warm and boozy without ever being hot. Thick, slow-sipping, exactly what you want from a double barrel barleywine.

Human People - Fresh hop Simcoe
Haven’t tried their stuff but they just won gold at gabf, so i’ve got high hopes
Mcilhenney- All Gas No Breaks, Wizards Wand
Quickly becoming my favorite wc beer maker. More balanced than its mixer norcal cousins.
Suarez and Pivo.
Absolutely gutted about suarez. will resume orders when they figure their stuff out.
Pivo is my supermarket goat. Hard pour in a czech mug, squeeze the foam. The poor man’s lukr.

Looking for something similar to O’Fallon’s pretzel beer as
I believe the company no longer exists. It’s a golden ale with notes of bread and a little salt. Also preferably something I could get in western PA

Not as good as the Ultimate from the same family, but very far from a drain pour :P

This has all those stone fruit juice tastes with a slightly bitter bite after, reminiscent of bright rinds from citrus as well.
Great job!

I’ve never been a big beer drinker, my drink of choice is simply Vodka with lime and occasionally a splash of club soda. So my friend recommended me to try an IPA , I saw this at the bodega on my block and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor of this, not what I was expecting, kinda fruity with a hint of a sour wang in the aftertaste. The carbonation is noticeably much flatter than the beers I have had in the past and I think I prefer it. So is this trash IPA? Should I even bother telling my buddy I tried this? And how many of these do you guys usually drink in a sitting, I had one and feel as if six or seven of these would be my limit.

They are absolutely rolling right now and if you have the opportunity to get a Ghost Town Beer in the nickel dime (Oakland, California) I suggest you do.
They just have been killing it from jump.
Stay safe and stay thirsty my friends.
