Hi everyone! I’m thinking about applying to the Cyber Security master’s at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. A friend told me only around 40 students have graduated from it in the last five years. Is that true? It sounds very low.

Can any current students or alumni confirm this?

• How many students start each year?
• How many actually finish, and how long does it take (2 years or longer)?
• Which courses are the hardest?
• How easy was it to find an internship or job afterwards?

Any honest experiences would really help. Thanks!

Hey everyone! I'm a guy in my twenties, currently studying at BTU here in Cottbus. Looking to meet some new people and hopefully make a few friends! Would be nice to hang out, grab a drink, go for a walk, or just do something fun together. Feel free to reach out if you're also looking to meet new people :)

Danke euch!!!!!!

Hallo Cottbus!

Hey everyone!

Turning 24 this Saturday and looking to mix things up with some new faces.

We are already around 30 people, a fun international mix of BTU students, new med students, and old friends. Music, drinks, and beer pong are all set.

Quick note: Ideally please do not come completely solo, just bring a friend, roommate, or partner along. It makes breaking the ice way easier for everyone.

Interested? Send me a quick PM with two sentences about who you are (and who you are bringing along). Exact location and timing will follow via chat.

See you Saturday! ✌️

Hi guys,

I was wondering what are the best places to stay in Cottbus as an international student and what are the places to avoid?

Pls share your experiences in here.

Hey zusammen!

Hey everyone!

I'm an international Master's student at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, looking for a furnished room or WG sublet in Cottbus starting October 10, 2026, for approximately one month.

Ideally, I'd prefer somewhere near BTU's central campus, but I'm flexible with the location.

If anyone is subletting their room, has a temporary vacancy, or knows someone who does, please DM me! I'd really appreciate any leads.

Thanks in advance

Hi everyone!

I’m urgently looking for a room in a shared flat (WG) or a studio apartment in Cottbus, preferably with Anmeldung.

A little about me: I’m a 26-year-old male, and I’ll be starting my Master’s degree at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, which will last at least two years. I’m looking for long-term accommodation for the duration of my studies.

I’m a clean, tidy, and respectful person, and I really appreciate keeping shared spaces clean and well maintained. In my free time, I enjoy going for walks and working out at the gym.

My budget is up to €380 per month.

If you have a room available or know someone who does, I would really appreciate it if you could send me a DM with the details.

Thank you! :)

Hi everyone,

I am an incoming Master’s student in Artificial Intelligence at BTU Cottbus, set to arrive in Cottbus on October 4th for the winter semester. I had previously arranged a room starting October 1st and submitted my documents, but the landlord has stopped responding right before sending over the contract. I am now urgently looking for a temporary sublet, short-term WG room, or interim accommodation for 1 to 2 months.

- 23-year-old male, Malaysian, B1 level German
- non-smoker.
- Budget upto €330 (warmmiete) per month
- Physical arrival is October 4th, but I am fine with paying rent starting from October 1st to secure the room immediately.
- Anmeldung is not required, though a plus if possible.

If you have a free room, are subletting while away, or know anyone with a spare room or temporary spot in Cottbus, please drop a comment or send me a DM.

Thank you

Hey everyone! 😊

I’m looking for someone who can help me with my daughter for 1–3 mornings between 12th and 15th October. I’ll confirm the exact day(s) once I find someone.

The task would be from around 4:00 AM to 7:00 AM:

• Take care of her while she’s sleeping.
• Wake her up around the morning.
• Get her ready and walk her to her Krippe, which is about 10 minutes from my location.

Usually she’ll be asleep for most of the time, so it’s mainly about being there with her and then taking her to the Krippe safely.

If you’re interested, please DM me with a short introduction about yourself and your hourly/total charge. 😊

Hi!! .

Im urgently looking for a room in a shared flat or a studio apartment.

About me, I am 27 years girl old and I will be studying at BTU for a masters that would last at least 2 years.

I am a clean and tidy person and I like my surroundings to also be clean and taken care of properly. I enjoy going for walks or training at the gym. I usually don’t cook a lot but I most likely I would on Sunday to prepare for the upcoming week since I would spend all days at the university.

If you have any questions please let me know

Due to current construction work, the journey from Cottbus Central Station to Berlin Central Station takes over 3 hours by public transport.

Does anyone regularly drive from Cottbus to Berlin, especially from Monday to Wednesday? We'd like to know...

If anyone has a spot available, please send me a DM. 😊

Hi,

Jemand Erfahrung damit? Kontrolliert da jemand?

Hello everyone!

I’m looking for accommodation starting October 2026.

I’m looking for:

-A 1-room apartment (studio) or a room in a shared flat (WG – girls only)

- Ideally within a 10–15 minute walk of the BTU central campus

- Budget: Preferably €250–300

- Rental period: Initially 3–6 months, with the possibility of extending

- Anmeldung (registration) is mandatory.

I’ve already applied for student accommodation and am also looking at private housing options. If you know of any available apartment, WG, landlord, or housing group, I’d really appreciate any leads.

I’d also love to connect with fellow BTU students- especially Pakistani students to get to know the community and receive some guidance before moving, but definitely open to connecting with students from other backgrounds!

If you have any recommendations or available accommodation, please feel free to send me a private message.

Thank you! 😊
