Compare & Contrast: Can You Translate From "Italiañol" (Italiano + Español) To Corsican?
Portuguese, Galician, Spanish & Italian resemble dialects that could be very simply reintegrated & reunified into r/Neolatino Romance, r/LatinoSineFlexione or r/Interlingua for maximized immediate comprehension & maximized international communication.

San Ciprianu
We are a family of 4 planning a trip to Corsica for a week next summer. We found a nice plan on the beach in San Ciprianu. Wondering if it’s safe there? The rental page makes a comment about “safety” but unclear what they mean - crime? Drunk people? Mad cow disease? Also if it’s noisy from the beach clubs. We would have 2 toddlers with us. Thanks in advance!

5 days in Corsica in October 🇫🇷🏍️
Bonjour everyone!
My girlfriend and I will be landing in Ajaccio mid October and will have about 5 days to explore Corsica. We haven't set anything in stone yet, so we're keeping things flexible and would love some advice from the locals and experienced visitors.
We're looking for the crème de la crème of Corsica. Beautiful scenery, hidden gems, amazing food, charming villages, incredible roads, and experiences we won't forget. We're willing to travel all across the island if it's worth it!
A few questions:
What places would you absolutely recommend visiting in October?
Which towns, villages, beaches, or mountain areas should we not miss?
Any particularly scenic drives or roads worth exploring?
Best local restaurants or food experiences?
Are there any hidden gems that tourists tend to overlook?
With only 5 days, would you recommend staying in one or two locations, or moving around the island?
Who would you recommend renting a vehicle from? Car or motorcycle rental company with fair prices, good insurance options, and convenient pickup in or near Ajaccio.
We're open to all suggestions, whether it's a famous must-see or a little spot that only locals know about.
If you had 5 days in Corsica in mid-October and wanted to experience the very best the island has to offer, how would you spend them and who would you rent your vehicle from?
Merci beaucoup in advance! 🙏

Recommendations needed - Planning a trip for September 2027 with husband & 12-13 month old baby girl
Hello! I know it’s early on, but I am thinking of taking a trip to France with my husband and 12 month old baby girl (she is a newborn right now), for September 2027. We are big Francophiles and deeply into napoleonic history, so we’ve decided to stay a week in Paris and then 7-10 days in Corsica. We’d fly there and rent a car. What are your recommendations for a successful trip? We’re thinking of spending a few nights in Ajaccio, a few in Zonza / Alta Rocca, and a few in Bonifacio. Our daily itineraries would be more flexible as we’re traveling with a toddler, with some day trips and some days just relaxing at the beach. Is this a realistic / ideal itinerary for a first time visitor? Would you suggest any other towns / structure for the itinerary?
Thank you!!

Half Chinese half Canadian dude visiting
Yo I’ll be visiting you’re beautiful island for a month or two in a bit. 2 questions
What language to sharpen up? Speak ok French and Italian, one of those or learn the local dialect more?
Don’t look Asian and I’ve heard there’s some anti foreign sentiments, anything to explicitly avoid doing?

Solo traveling from September 25 - October 8th to attempt the GR20
I'm assuming at least 20 posts similar to this one get posted in this subreddit every day, but I'm here just throwing my name out there to say that I'm coming to this incredible island on September 25th (from Paris, arriving in Calvi), to attempt the infamous GR20.
My plan is to hike the whole trail pretty swiftly (aiming to complete it in < 8 days), then spend a few days after in Sardenia, where I eventually will travel to Rome to take my return flight home.
I.e. high level itenerary:
Sept 25, arrive in Calvi. Take a taxi to Calenzana, sleep there in a hostel.
Sept 26, start the GR20.
Oct 2~4 Finish the GR20 in Conca. Travel to Porto-Vecchio, then to Bonafacio. take a ferry to Santa Teresa.
Santa Teresa -> Olbia.
If anyone also happens to be traveling here within the time frame, and wants to share advice / transportation / tips or anything, let me know!

Fish restaurant -south-east/south
We've been in Corsica for 10 days already and mostly had Italian food (pizza) or meat. Any recommendations where to eat fish/seafood near Porto Vecchio (we have a car)? Nothing fancy, reasonably priced.

Need advice anent best way to travel to Corsica.
I’m presently in Porto, Portugal. I have been researching the best way to get to Corsica from Porto but I feel like I’m missing something like perhaps the obvious. I would like to visit Ajaccio and use it as a base to explore some of the other places on the island.
I can’t find direct flights into Corsica. Is it true that the best approach is to fly to southern France and take a ferry from Nantes to Corsica. It just seems like a roundabout but fun way to get there but I’m wondering if there’s something more direct. TIA.
UPDATE: I just got a USD 200 round trip Porto > Nantes > Ajaccio in October on Kiwi. Thanks for everyone’s help and suggestions.

North of Corsica recommendations
Hi! I am going to spend 6 days in September in the north of Corsica: One night in Bastia, three nights in Corte, one night in Calvi, and one night in Île-Rousse. I am mostly interested in hiking, nature, sunsets, sea activities, and meeting locals. What activities or places do you recommend? Is there a cheap option for accommodation that you recommend most? Thank you so much for your help!
