I would have liked to see Walter Slezak in Columbo.
Seeing him in that episode of Batman, I would have liked to see him in Columbo; I think he would have done a great job playing a murderer.

“They fold their own. Some things never change, lieutenant!”
He’s gotta be the most chaotic npc of the series. He’s insecure, confused, yet somehow certain. He starts the scene boyishly ogling a 747, then insecurely defends his shitty current position, then shouts at Columbo about the conventions of parachuting as if everyone should know them. Then they engage in this strange dialogue while Columbo is on the phone. What was going on with him?
Some of the other crazier things he says:
“Never made the connection.”
“Really? Made it in the movies, huh?”
“Keep it short, will you? You never know when there might be an alert.”

Miscallaneous YouTuber Columbo
An idea I thought was funny. I brought up the idea of how a Columbo revival would be done and we ended up with a modern interpretation of Columbo who was a true crime YouTuber who somehow found his way onto every scene.

RIP Walter Koenig
As a Star Trek fan, I enjoyed seeing some of the Original Series cast pop up in Columbo. The quietest being Walter Koenig. I really liked his cameo in Fade to Murder. One of the more animated plain clothes assisting Columbo.
Just wanted to do a brief post here to the group. Will be missed by so many people because he did so much on his 90 years with us.

Let’s say someone put every Columbo murderer in the Hunger Games. Who’s winning it all and why?
I’m placing my bet on Paul Hanlon. Just needs to glare at someone once, and they’d drop dead, bonus points if he’s in the ice cream man suit.

Columbo tips!!
Two questions: (1) Did he tip in any other episode? and (2) How much do you guess he tipped? I guess $2 tops!

Has Columbo ever read anyone their rights upon arrest?
I know the show ends upon arrest, but in some instances, he banters with them after arresting them, as in "Now you See Him".

Question The streetlight
So do we think the kids really did break the streetlight? Or did Hayward while planning the murder? Multiple times in the episode we get Columbo talking about how kids break street lights, but is he just kind of acknowledging it without saying he thinks it’s Hayward?
Shame about Harry though… HE WAS A CLOSE PERSONAL FRIEND

Watching Columbo From the Future is Fun
What do I mean?
I have watched every episode of Columbo multiple times. I watched it when it originally aired but most of my views are on DVD. We have the complete series.
Watching it now, from the vantage of what was the “future” for the show, you see everything that would probably result in cases being thrown out. We have all become so educated in forensics. :)
Columbo tromps through the scene, handles evidence carelessly and brings cigars and eggshells to the crime scene.
But it doesn’t lessen the enjoyment for me. It actually increases it to nitpick a bit.
Does that make sense?

Nerdy *Playback* question
Why didn't all doors in the house open or close at the same time when someone clapped their hands? And with the gunshot, why did only the bedroom door open?
I know, I have too much time on my hands.

How he would have been acquitted....
Not that it would take anything away from that beautiful episode, but it makes me feel good for some reason to believe that Santini's case would have either been thrown out of court or a jury would have had reasonable doubt.
A good lawyer would have immediately moved to suppress the typewriter ribbon. Columbo routinely snuck into the victim’s office and mucked around with the typewriter without a proper search warrant. Worse: by typing on the machine AFTER the murder took place, Sergeant Wilson actively tampered with and altered the physical evidence.
No ribbon, no case, no nothing. And there he is. Free to move on to his next accent.

Ideas wanted
Hey Folks! I really feel very comfortable amongst you, so you're the first I'd like to ask: Since I need a new occupation I figured this might be a chance to do something more in the direction of interests, and in this case Columbo 😄 I come from the Videoproduction industry but are not happy to further do livestreamings, corporate movies and so on.
Do you have ideas what people like us may fit in more suitably? 🙃
Thanks a lot for the brain effort

I Always Get A Kick Out Of This!
I am a Columbophile (obviously!). I am also a Love Boater, but it has been a while since I binged the series. I started another LB binge this week and I always get a kick out of seeing actors in one series or another.
I never remembered seeing these two in a LB episode, but here they are: Lenore Kennicutt and Ken Archer . . . ahem . . . Noreen and Clark – love interests in both Columbo (Death Lends a Hand, 1971) and Love Boat (The Sisters, 1978).
