I was sitting on a bench, turning my face up to the sun, and taking in the autumn air in big breaths. The kindest goth couple came to make sure I was okay - not gasping for breath from altitude sickness. Faith in humanity restored.

We were on the porch near institute and Kiowa St when we heard screaming. As it got closer, it was clearly a middle aged woman screaming “help me, help me, call the police!” from a white possibly 05-15 mercury SUV, with roof racks and distinct halogen headlights with bluer LED fog lights. They paused at the intersection for about 10 seconds before turning around and speeding back down Kiowa west, toward downtown. We called 911 immediately and gave the vehicles description. We were unable to make out any other details. We met up with a neighbor who also witnessed it, where we eventually saw a police car come up and loitering at just down the road before speeding off, possibly to the vehicle. We want to know if anyone else saw this, and if anyone knows what happened as it seemed the cop set off with a destination.

Hi all. I’ve now had several antagonistic interactions with - what I think - are teens on mini bikes along the Rock Island trail. They always wear all black and are now starting to wear ski masks. It’s always two of them.

The first time I encountered them, one of them drove their minibike at me and my dog, obviously causing me to panic and run off the trail. I’ve since encountered them three more times and every time they’ve stared at me as they’ve driven by making me feel very nervous, and this last time, they flipped me off. Each time I was off the trail itself and running alongside on sidewalks / parallel dirt paths. I don’t even know why I’m being targeted other than I’m a woman running alone and I had the audacity to shake my head at them when they flew by me on the trail doing 30+.

They often are riding between 4 and 6 PM along the trail between South Academy and Circle. Today, I asked a man bicycling if he’d seen them up ahead so I could avoid them - they were waiting for me after they flipped me off - and he gave me his cam footage from his bike ride. I’ve linked it here, too

I am wondering if anyone else has had any run-ins with them, or possibly know who they are? I am going to the police because I no longer feel safe on the trail, so if you’ve had any experience with these two, feel free to reach out.

Is anybody else getting letters in the mail telling them that they need to vote or that they haven't voted. I actually got three and some are correct and some are not I have voted but they are saying that I did not vote in 2022 which is wrong. And then the constant text message telling me to vote . I'm a grown ass adult I know I want to vote quit telling me to vote. So I'm home yesterday afternoon relaxing and a guy knocks on my door saying I see you haven't voted yet , are you f****** kidding me leave me alone

I have about seven months of my gi bill left I’d like to use. I already have my bachelors and masters. I don’t think I’ll do another official professional degree but I’d like to use the last seven months to do something fun. I’d like to take painting or maybe fiber arts classes. I am a vet who moved here in July. I have really struggled. 988 helps, but the inability for any congruency between mental health and community care is disgusting. Springs VA is the stereotypical, horribly ran, tone deaf VA everyone hears about. DC VA was so much easier to navigate, busier, and still maintained compassion for vets. I have been attempting to navigate community care in the Springs, and its clears they'd rather I die and just be off of the books. The colorado springs VA is disgusting and a hell hole to navigate. Im leaving this place eventually but I hope the Springs gets it together before we lose more vets due to their negligence. Hell. I hope I make it.

Hello! Does anyone have recommendations for a lawyer that can provide a free or low cost consultation regarding a tenant’s rights related to the landlord’s utility billing? I’ve done quite a bit of research about it since the new law went into effect this year and after communicating the issue to my landlord (they were charging an exorbitant flat fee for a single utility), they have revised their policy….sort of? Still charging a flat fee that is seemingly arbitrary but they’ve amended it to add that they will collect or refund at the end of my lease based on actual utility usage and this is a gray area not addressed in the new law that I’m not sure whether I have the right to push back on.

Also small PSA- if you’re a landlord, please do the research on whether your contracts are legal and don’t leave all that labor up to your tenants. It’s yuck behavior.
