SILVER My humble stack
This is every piece of silver I’ve found since I caught the coinstar bug in February. I found one of the 1964 dimes today and decided to pull everything out and was surprised at how many coins I’ve found. My favorite is the 1938 S mark quarter since from what I read it’s a semi-low mintage. Planning on doing this for the foreseeable future and hopefully the kids start checking with me lol.

Steel Penny From Coinstar
Not silver… But I’ll take a 1943 steel wheat cent. Such a neat piece of history. Copper wheat cent for comparison. It sticks to a magnet.

SILVER 7 and 1
7 silver dimes and 1 silver quarter.
Nice pull at a Meijer.
The pennies usually pay the Sandy tax.

SILVER Full Return
Almost plopped one in my shorts when I saw the return. Grabbed the first handful and realized the chute was full… about 6 grabs to clean it out… sweatpants pocket was swinging and clanking while I finished shopping. 85 cents silver and a ton of 70’s West German.

CLAD Today’s score: DIMES!
No silver, but $1.84 face value and one Canadian nickel. I’ll call it Free Dime Monday.
Two of the pennies are stuck together, so they must be in love. I’ll let them be.
Happy searching!

Approximately 1 year worth of finds.
I can't remember exactly when I started saving the change but it was around this time. This is basically all of the change that I have found at Coinstars, self checkoutS, and on the ground, for about one year. I forgot to separate the Coinstar stuff when I took the photo of the big pile. I was doing this tired and late at night when I dumped all of the coins out to count and sort. Almost all of it was from the Coinstar machines. The total that I had in the first photo was $22.83 U.S. Some times when I found silver or copper, I would pull it and then replace it, and other times I forgot to replace, so the total that I have actually found may be over or under.
I tried to show some of the more notible or better stuff. I showed some of the silver that I had found. There was a silver quarter and a couple of silver dimes, but I can't find those right now. There are a total of 3 half dollars. One of them is a 2026. I found only one 1 dollar coin. The most I found at one time since I have saved the change I have found, was $1.36, and that was this year. That was about a couple of weeks ago. There are some foreign ones and some tokens.

A nice add to my pennybook
I finally found something after a lloonngg dry spell, several months iirc. but the managers at my local grocery loot the return whenever they can, dont blame the fellow hunters ether. but they diddnt have my creamer so off to Walmart I went where I checked the return finding this with an exclamation of "OH A 1943 STEEL CENT HELL YES!!!" and secured the oat creamer. All and all banger day id say :p.

Weekly Roundup Vacation Hunt - First "Indian" Penny
Funny thing happened: I was showing some of my finds to my host (who used to be a casual coin collector). I mentioned finding war nickels, a few buffalo, occasional mercurial, but that I haven't found an Indian penny, he replied "oh yeah, you never see those anymore". Well, the very next day, I got my first, a 1901.
Total finds on 6 "sweeps": ~$9.50 in spenders, two silver Rosie's, three Wheaties, 40 copper pennies, a pair of really shiny '59 pennies (proofs?), Russian Ruble, Philippine Piso, and a '69 Canada Quarter

SILVER First coinstar silver!
I’ve gotten a few hauls of random coins but this is my first silver! Unfortunate that this event gets overshadowed by the massive mint error I pulled out of the coinstar as well. Anybody ever seen the Lincoln-Rosie hybrid with two completely different years?? Unbelievable the mint let that through.

SILVER First big find!
These were all stacked up on the ledge of the machine, right in front of a long line of people! A bunch of random foreign coins, a few wheats, and one lucky silver quarter!

SILVER Made out like a bandit today
Went over to Kroger today to send the money order and decide to check the Coinstar and this is what I found. Looks like somebody rated grandpa’s coin stash. Maybe it’s a real nice Helvetia.

r/coins — Sorting a big penny bucket — the 1982s are still hiding in there
Working through a big bucket of pennies, year by year. For 1982s I weigh first — zinc goes straight out, only the coppers get a close look for small date. Anyone else ever pull a 1982-D small date copper out of circulation?
