Thanks so much. I love to share. I had an old ZapQuake one, but it was about destroying the clan castle, so I wanted something more updated.

I had a war attack today with the cc on the outside on a teaser base. A jump spell (over a wall) and 5 sneaky gobs and it died before deploying.

Are there any buildings worthwhile for lightning spells beyond air defences and air sweepers?

I had a war recently where my TH12 used 9 zaps and 3 quake to destroy 15 defenses in a word ring base.
Not many times I would target a specific defense, but clusters are great targets.

Yes, zap-quake is worth on infernos, eagle, queen, warden platform, sometimes even wizard towers/xbows.

Isn’t 3 lightening on an air sweepers for lower town halls?
Btw if you could do this for freeze I’d really appreciate it because im kinda lackin in that department

I have an image of the tiles saved on my desktop. Easiest thing to remember is it’s 5x5 at its maximum range. The 5 tile range reaches 3 tiles wide perpendicular.
So it’s basically a plus sign made up of two 5x3 rectangles crossed at the centre.

Did they change the animation of the lightning spell?

Yes. Used to be a few bolts around the target with some randomness. Now, it is one strike per spell.

Yeah that's what I meant. Did they change it recently? Because I thought the last time I used them it looked different.

Man I been trying to explain this to my clan mates since they changed the lightening spell. They just don’t seem to understand that you don’t have to drop them right on something. I always try to take out as many defenses as possible with mine. And 99% of the time, I’m getting 3 stars with my eLoon army. And to think people still bother with rages anymore…

Wow! Thank you! I’ve been playing since the beginning (minus a year or two break) and always thought it was a perfect circle, therefore covered 1/2 tile diagonally in those corners. Would get so frustrated when it didn’t do what I expected and assumed it was because I misplaced.

its also possible to hit 2 buildings with 1 lightning if there is a 3x2 tile gab between the two buildings

To sum it up, the range of lighting spell is 5x5 square with the corners cut off (assuming lightning spell is placed in the center of the square).
