Still a newb.
I've noticed a few online tutorials saying you shouldn't feel bad about restarting if your starting location isn't great, and I think they tend to mean in terms of food/production. But do they also mean for fresh water?
I set my start today to abundant resources and great starting locations, but 4 loads in a row all put me either near the coast or a bunch of mountains, and none of them had access to fresh water. My understanding is that water matters in the context of available housing, and that can be overcome with everything from farms to neighborhoods. Since housing over cap determines population growth, though, that could be a real problem starting out.
So if you load up with no fresh water nearby, do you restart/go looking for it, or is the lack of fresh water not as big a problem as it seems?

I can't be the only one who would instantly buy a Civ6 vinyl of this banger soundtrack, I love civ music and a bit bummed out about the fact that only civ7 has a vinyl release.

So I've lately developed the obsession to build as many canals as possible and I'd like to know if there are any maps where you could, if well planed, connect many inland cities to the coast via cannals or joining two oceans

hello group, i'm comming with another question for de comunitty. Recently i asked about the most hated leaders, and this space gave me al lot fo interesting answers, so i came with this one.
I usually know how to divide beatwin big game strategies (big or tall for example) and leaders specific strategies (Leonor pacific domination). But theres some strategies thar place in the middle, strategies that can be used by several leaders but is better with a specific bunch, for example using work ethic with leaders that spone in tundra or desert and have chosen northen lights or song of the desert pantions.
What do you say? wich strategies will you say is the best or one of the best?

Hi
Was wondering if anyone know of a or similar mod that lets you produce units with upgraded.
Example with aircraft carrier:
Can make normal ones to the 100% base production. Or make it with some upgrades like increased health, DMG or aircraft slots for increased production per upgrade. For increased production for the upgrade.
This way you may get a flagship or smt to defend or help attacks. But with the production cost making it less worth than the same amount of standard units so u don't mass produce them. And instead get a strong unit for the amount of tiles it takes and such...
And so It can be all like: whaaa this is so cool to dominate the sea with. I love looking at this flagship....
Don't think there is any and the closet is just experience and levels. And I did not mean to replace the experience.
And I also are looking for mods that make the AI more active toward naval warfare instead of just building land units on their own iland when most of the mapp is sea. It's s bit boring to dominate the sea without much competition.
Thanks in advance

I played as Egypt on prince difficulty at standard speed (no DLCs). I could barely do it before turn 500 but i managed to capture the last capital i needed on the very last turn! (I was really stressing about it bc i thought the game ends at 500 turns and you cant continue playing lol but i still managed to do it just in time) 90 total cities btw

For the entire game, I've been trying to figure out how dense this mountainous area was that I got hit with, and finally got an aerial view. C'mon, man! I'm handicapped out of the gate trying to build cities with this obstacle! All this time, I was waiting for engineers to build tunnels so I could colonize the middle.
Is this beneficial in any way, or am I justified in being annoyed with the physical inability to grow my civ in that direction out of the gate for that many tiles?

I have no enemies.
Hi All. Long time Civ player, going back to 2. Thousands of hours in 4 and 5. I've bounced off 6 a few times, and decided to try it again recently after picking up the two big DLCs for cheap. In my first game back, there are two big mechanics that are really frustrating me and reminding me why I bounced off the game before. Would love any advice about dealing with these issues.
1 - I had one successful early war against a neighbor where I was able to pretty quickly conquer all their cities. No problem. When that was done, I rolled my big army over to the next neighbor. I pretty quickly captured two cities, but now I'm up against a couple absolute fortresses with super high defense and only one or two hexes from which they can be attacked. Any time I'm able to get a siege unit within range, they are killed by city defenses. Any time I try to move my units deeper into their territory, I'm picked apart by other city defenses and can't establish anything around another city. Any units of theirs that come out of their cities, or enter my territory I kill easily. So essentially we've hit a stalemate. Fine, that happens. Problem is, I can't get them to agree to peace while also taking the two cities I've held for 20+ turns and have 100% loyalty to me. So my options seem to be to just stay at war forever, or just give them back their two cities making the whole thing pointless. What the hell am I supposed to do here?
2 - I'm playing as England and have made it a goal to prioritize naval superiority, exploration, and settling other continents. I finally found a great island to settle on, but as soon as I settle I'm getting like -25 loyalty per turn from Hungary. Have a governor, have a unit garrisoned there, bought a monument, still unavoidable that I lose the city. How the heck are you supposed to be settling new lands and continents with this mechanic? Seems kind of unfun. Two of my favorite things about Civ - conquering other civs' cities and establishing new colonies - are made so difficult without having the ability to completely overwhelm an entire civ militarily or culturally.

I played the Khmer and won by DIPLOMACY. 4 Megadeath bots for discussing with enemies.
Annihilated spain and got denounced for centuries for it. Got in war with EVERYONE.
And won by DIPLOMACY
Like LOVE in Undertale

I play as England and even though I've been literally dominating everyone in terms of culture and tourism I'm still losing to Russia for some reason. I've bought all of his art works and he's still ahead of me

For instance, -50% culture per turn but inspirations provide all the culture for a civic. Would that be a good idea for a civ play style? What civ do you think would have such ability?
I never realized how powerful Cree could be until I did this run with them. Few civs are more powerful economically. Huge growth, production and gold.

Cannot for the life of me figure this out. When I’m on the loyalty lens, if I click on the city banner it just goes to my interaction screen with that leader.
