Dowry.
৪৫০টি পিঠা, ৪০টি পেয়ারা, এক কেজি বড় চিংড়ি মাছ, এক কেজি আপেল, ৮টি ড্রাগন ফল, ৪ কেজি তেলাপিয়া মাছ আর ৩ কেজি দুধ নিয়ে শ্বশুরবাড়িতে গিয়েছিলেন সিফাতুন নুর!
এত কিছু নেওয়ার পরও তার শাশুড়ি খোঁটা দিয়ে বলছে “এতো কম নাস্তা কেন!” এর পর মেয়েটাকে পেটানো হয়,এবং ৯ দিন পরে সে মৃত্যুবরণ করে।আচ্ছা এত খাবার কেন দরকার?এই সারপ্লাস জিনিসগুলোর কী দরকার?যার জন্য একজনকে পিটিয়ে মেরে ফেলতে হয়।ইলন মাস্ক এর ১ ট্রিলিয়ন ডলার আছে বাট সে এখনও ওয়েলথ পারসিউ করে যাচ্ছে।সেটা করতে যায়া চিটাগং এর ওই ফ্যামিলির থেকেও বেশি মন্সটারাস কাজ করতেছে।So the question is why the surplus?the surplus enjoyment?
And এই সারপ্লাসের জন্য কত নিচে আর নামবে?এদের একাউন্টেবল করার জন্য ক্লাস কনশাসনেস বিষয়টা অনেক জরুরি যা বাংলাদেশে নাই।বাংলাদেশের কারোর মধ্যেই এই বিষয়টা নাই।তারা যে গরীব,বস যে এক্সপ্লয়েট করার জন্য যে কোনকিছু করতে পারে বা একটা মেয়ে যে প্যাট্রিয়ার্কাল টেকনোলজির মধ্যে অপারেট করে তা আর বুঝতে পারে না বা অনেক সময় চায় না।

How do you know that all chitgaiya are like this? We haven't taken much also didn't gave much to our bhabis family. And that's goes vise versa like my female cousins also in same place. We haven't give them much they also didn't give to us. It's some uneducated or back dated aunt's who do same like they have seen in their entire life

Listen. Whatever you did was fine. But no need to bring it in every conversation because it's nothing special or extra ordinary. Giving and taking nothing is the norm as it should be. But majority are like this. The incident being discussed here is the common shit in our society. So you talking about your family is just making these horrible painful incidents looking like small things. And the whole thing is getting covered. Exceptional cannot be an example.

অন্য ভিডিওতে তো দেখলাম মেয়ে দৌড়ে গিয়ে দরজা আটকায় দিয়ে সুইসাইড এর চেষ্টা করছে , পড়ে সবাই দরজা ভেঙে ওকে নিয়ে হাসপাতালে গেছে। অনলাইন এ যেই কাহিনী ছড়াইছে সেটার পক্ষে কোন কিছু পেলাম না।

ভিডিও বা কি প্রমাণ পাইছেন সেটা দেন দেখি। আমি দেখি নাই, বরং মেয়ে সুইসাইড করার জন্যে দরজা আটকায় দিয়েছে দৌড়ে গিয়ে সেই ভিডিও দেখেছি, সেটা বললাম ।অশিক্ষিত নাকি আপনি?

এরকম এভিডেন্স দিয়ে বিচার করলে দেশের 80 ভাগ আর চট্টগ্রাম এর 95 ভাগ শাশুড়িদের ফাঁসি দেওয়া লাগবে। চট্টগ্রাম এ যৌতুক কোন লেভেল এ চলে সবাই জানে। কিন্ত প্রমাণ ছাড়া ফাঁসানোর কোন সুযোগ নাই। এরকম প্রমাণ ছাড়া কাজ কর্ম করেই করোনার শুরুর দিকে এক মাকে বাচ্চার কিডন্যাপার ভেবে মেরে ফেলেছিল মানুষজন।
তার চেয়ে বড় কথা দেশে নারী অধিকার এতটাই সুপ্রতিষ্ঠিত হইছে যে ওই শাশুড়ির যদি সিসিটিভি এর সামনে মেয়েটিকে মেরে ফেলার ভিডিওও থাকত কিছুই হইত না শাশুড়ির। বাংলাদেশে এযাবৎকালে কোন মহিলার ফাঁসি হয় নাই।

I kept seeing the news all over my feed and I avoided it at first because honestly...what's new? But then I finally saw her age. My god...she was younger than me... It's so difficult to even digest for me even as a stranger. But her husband is still defending his mother and sister. Sigh.

এসব লোকদেরকে সামাজিকভাবে একঘরে করে রাখার প্রচলন শুরু করতে হবে। যে বিয়েতে যৌতুকের আদান-প্রদান হবে সে বিয়ের দাওয়াত খাওয়া থেকে বিরত থাকা দিয়েই শুরু হোক এই সামাজিক বয়কটের প্রচলন।

Yes also men like these deserve to be lonely. Women should stop marrying these lowclass men. When the majority of women will embrace solitude and refrain from such bullshit marriage men will be forced to make things right. And cases like these will be lesser.

এদের যাবজ্জীবন কারাদণ্ড হতে হবে। সুস্থ সমাজে এদেরকে রাখা যাবে না। মহিলা দেখে ওই শাশুড়ির কম শাস্তি হলে বাকিরা ভয় পাবেনা।
