Discussion/Debate In all seriousness… Justin Tucker missed 8 field goals in his most recent season (2024) - 3 from the 40s range and 5 from the 50s range. I don’t know how this solves anything unless they’re certain he can be better than his most recent season.

Opinion Chiefs fans could use some positivity heading into Broncos week. Despite the tough loss, Kenneth Walker still leads the NFL in rushing yards per game, giving fans something good to celebrate.

Discussion/Debate When will Veach actually pull the trigger and get Pat a true WR 1?
Veach I hope by some chance you are browsing this page and see this. Us fans want to know when you are going to bring us a new WR? I keep seeing rumor after rumor week after week. Nothing ever happens or comes to fruition unless it is Justin Watson or any other bad player that makes no difference. Why does it take 3 years for a talented young receiver like Cyrus Allen to see a majority of snaps? When will you actually say enough is enough and go get an alpha WR 1 like Garrett Wilson for these draft picks? That is all.

Analysis 7 Things The Chiefs Need To Be Honest About After Seattle
Another thing they need to be honest about is Josh Simmons is a problem. I don't care if he was a first round pick or an undrafted free agent some of the stuff that's been coming out about him has been really concerning to the point to where at the end of this year if things don't change I'm okay with them cutting him.

Hot Take Just a fun what if: trade for Justin Reid and promote him over Butker to K1
As the title says, it’s a fun what if. If we’re going to have marginal kicking, might as well make it fun and get an extra tackler on the field.

Discussion/Debate Forget about offense the Chiefs should be hunting defensive talent at the trade deadline.
Everyone wants us to target WRs or OTs, but even if we could get one of them before the deadline, it would be crazy expensive and they wouldn't slot into our team right away. Our system takes time to learn. It is what it is. We could bring in a JAG on offense or take a flyer on BTJ (which I'm not opposed to), but I don't think they're making a major impact on this season. As for tackles? Forget about it. Teams don't trade meaningful starting tackles in-season. It's just not realistic.
Defense on the other hand, is a side of the ball teams are generally more willing to wheel and deal on in-season. Our recent superbowls were built on the back of great defense, more so than offense. We have a solid young core on defense. If we added talent, it could really propel our team into a legitimate contender and would pair perfectly with our run game on offense. Who are some players you guys would like to target?
I'll name a few
Josh Sweat- he would be an upgrade for our pass rush. He's a guy who has proven he can get after a QB and he's currently playing on a team, that's in sell mode.
Deforestation Buckner- the colts are looking to shop everyone right now. Buckner still has juice and can help our pass rush.
Zach Seiler- the Dolphins I'm sure could be talked out of anyone right now. Zack Seiler would be a great addition for our team. The dolphins just drafted Kenneth Grant last year too, so they could be more willing to deal Seiler. Grant is a player we could ask about too.
Keisan Nixon- Packers are last place in their division. Nixon would be a massive upgrade to our slot and would make everyone else in the secondary better.
Budda Baker- another Cardinal player we could potentially grab is all-pro safety Budda Baker.
Xavier McKinney- the Packers probably aren't looking to pack in just yet, but they are last place in their division. Might make sense for them to move on from the 28 year old safety.
Antoine Winfield jr.- the Buccs are 2-5 with a lame duck HC. Could make sense for them to move on from Winfield.
Troy Andersen- hyper athletic linebacker, who would give us another piece to play with.
Willie Gay- he's familiar with the scheme and could help cover TEs and bring extra athleticism to our defense. Might be had for cheap.

Opinion STOP PANICKING
Yes this team has flaws - every team in the league does.
Remember when we pantsed the Buccaneers a few years back in the regular season, only for them to totally dominate us in the super bowl a few years back?
We are 5-1. Take a breath y'all.

Discussion/Debate We lost and that's ok, we can talk about it
First big props to the D. Delane, Nohl, Tonga, Karloftis, all made big plays and stepped up to keep us in it for most of the game..
The way our offense played we didn't deserve the win. Mahomes was missing and rushing throws, our o line allowed 3-4 rushers to provide quick pressure. Walker was solid but didn't make any big plays. Our receivers including Kelce looked pedestrian. Props to Seattle's D for playing amazingly, we got things we gotta fix.
Our perfect season is over, and that's ok. Were still #1 in the AFC and 1st seed bound. I still like our chances to win the Superbowl.

Analysis KC Issues - Second Verse, Same as First
it's not that we lost to the seahawks, it's the way in which we did - the exact SAME way we've been losing the last few years:
- we have no pass rush. darnold out there looking like josh allen because we can't ever actually get to the passer. this is especially egregious on 3rd downs, which continue to extend drives, burn clock, and tire out the defense.
- o-line issues. a lot of teams experience injuries on o-line, but our backups are just NOT good. I had this concern since PRESEASON and I was downvoted because it was "only preseason." guess what, our starting o-line has injuries and we now have to rely on the backup. mahomes was off all night, I'm sure it was a shock to the system to have to play running for his life again. he needs to practice those rolling out of pocket throws given the OL. it's downright embarrassing, they're making mahomes looking washed out there. this also impacts the run game, they couldn't create a path last night.
- wr corps - ok rice was out, thornton was out, but for the last 3 years we have no WRs capable of (1) creating consistent separation and (2) making difficult/contested catches.
- rb depth - we have none. if teams stop K9, we are supposedly going to have more open up up-top. if teams are covering the pass, they're not supposed to be able to stop the run. given 2 and 3 though, this isn't actually true.
- special teams/kicking. this is a 'what have you done for me lately' question. players age, performance falls off. at what point do you recognize that? at what point do we get off the coattails of "making 5 of the last 7 superbowls" and recognize that change needs to happen? if butker made the end of half kick and the other in the 4th, the game changes. it doesn't FIX any of the issues above, but it changes the position we're in, momentum, pressure on the other qb to continue to deliver. his misses last night were inexcusable. they weren't ultra long range, the snap and hold were clean, seattle wasn't getting blocks on the FGs. mevis was dumped after a similar performance (i'd know, i had mevis in fantasy, dumped him even before the rams did, picked up butker and basically it was the same performance).
we have too much we need to fix by trade deadline. i'm not counting on pass rush or oline fixes - where? how? sorry, but i'll be stunned if simmons actually plays a snap for us this year. they're not gonna get rid of cj and butker because they helped us win a sb 3 seasons ago, great. and who would we even add at WR THIS season? mhj gone, jags keeping btj, who else would move the needle? this was an off-season issue: we didn't get aj brown, steffon diggs, mike evans - all of which would have been an improvement - we didn't get ANYONE. how is that excusable? who else? hill coming off of an insane injury + the things he was found guilty of?
again, it's not that we lost this game. we are a SB-or-bust team, and we have the EXACT SAME issues that have been plaguing us the last 3 seasons. we WILL make the playoffs. there might not be another team in the AFC that could do to us what the seahawks did last night - but you know who can in the SB? seahawks, vikings, healthy niners d, healthy rams d could ALL give us a repeat of bucs/eagles SBs.
i hope next year we can get rid of cj, butker, draft well, and actually pay the $$$/picks to get a TOP WR. can we also stop being the retirement home for chiefs that used to be good, left the team for cash, never performed the same, and returned??
