So stocked about how great it came out in the interior. CDs aren't sorted yet and we also need to have a listen on a lot of CDs on bottom and top shelves to decide what we actually want to keep. A lot of indie, metal and punk so far, but we definitely want to get more electronic music, any advices on what to listen are welcome. Thanks and hve a great day :)

Does anyone have any information on the Beatles box set, year of release and is it a limited edition?

Found this at my local record store, watched a video about these a while back and figured id never come across something only ever made and sold in the UK, but here I am. The 3 audio tracks in it play normally on the cd/DVD drive for my computer but obviously not the video, would the only way to play that video be to find a cd video player?

Got these from Phonoluxe Records in Nashville while visiting our son for the weekend. Great store with a big selection of CDs and vinyl at decent prices. Their “Metal” section is pretty small, but there are some good finds throughout the store.

First pic is a haul from a second hand shop near me that always has great stuff. They have a large room full of CDs. Under the racks there's boxes of CDs not on display but you can pull em out and go through them and find great stuff cheap. Next door is a roomful of vinyl.

The second pic is bits and pieces from various places. I found Welcome To Celebrity Fog Donkey by the Spymania Allstars in a charity shop, featuring classics like "We Live In a World of Shit" by MDK, "Orienteering is Fucking Rubbish" by T3 Perm Leech and "Sitting On the Mong Every Day" by Do Grin Edits (geddit?). The best track is "Safety Song" by Pleated Lemon; hints and tips on avoiding dangerous situations.

I don't know why I spent so long describing that one, it just amuses me.

Lots of other good stuff quite cheap anyway; reggae, Jon Spencer, Underworld, Aphex Twin, T Dream, Budgie, Muddy Waters.

There's something about seeing all these CDs piled up together that I really like.

The worn cases, random album covers, stuff from completely different genres sitting right next to each other.

Streaming is great when you already know what you want. But browsing shelves like this is a different kind of fun. Half the appeal is finding something you weren't even looking for.

Most of these are from my dad, which had my mom's mixed in. Another part is from a distant relative of mine, which filled some surprising gaps my dad had. The rest are from me, mostly collecting new.

One of the first CDs I bought about 6 months ago. Found this in a local store and was overjoyed to find it. Amazing album with some absolute killer performances and probably Alexis's best sounding vocals. Some killer tunes on here like Sixpounder, Angels Don't Kill and the title track.

Guess if I like pink floyd or not

This has been me starting my collection and what I have accumulated over the month of October, I will not post on here and next time I post i will give an update on my collection in about a year

Following my last post , here's the other clump of my messy teenage room with a bunch of CDs. The display pockets tended to be the most recent albums added to the collection. The Steely Dan boxset was always out because my then-boyfriend and I would luxuriate in the liner notes and feel vastly superior to our lesser classmates. Simpler times!

I bought a 1993 Jim Henson CD sealed from eBay

When I bought it I got it playing on my portable CD player but when I play it on my mini hifi unit it stops spinning and on my parents CD player it says unknown disc but on my portable units it plays fine

Is this a disc issue as my other discs work fine.

Bought 100ish cds for $10 and most were garbage but I now accidentally acquired screamy red man. My collection is now complete.

Theres also a copy of the self titled After All (1969) album in there but since its a sleeve, its not visible here.

From the charity shop...

hello, firstly, i want to apologise if this isn’t the right subreddit for this question. please redirect if i’m on the wrong subreddit.

i have a JVC RV-B99 player that i’ve been using to play CDs for about a year now. today i wanted to try playing a cassette. after inserting the cassette, it wouldn’t play so i tried to open the cassette player. to no avail because something was blocking me from opening it so my cassette is stuck in there.

while trying to open it, i pressed the power button for a few seconds, hoping maybe that would do something. now my cd player won’t react to anything. none of the buttons are working and the display shows the time, set to 12am, the “both side play” symbol and the word “clock“ blinking. i can’t even turn it off with the power button, so i have to unplug it to turn it off.

i’ve tried unplugging and plugging it back in multiple times, even waited a few minutes before plugging it back in but the player is still stuck like that and my cassette is still stuck inside.

i tried looking in the manual but couldn’t find anything useful.

does anyone know what’s going on and can tell me what to do?

I started buying CDs not just because they're a cool thing that you cans tick on your shelf, but it's that you own them and they can't be taken away unlike Spotify, not to mention they have the best sound quality, they're super portable and cheap. I love these things and I'm sure I'll keep collecting into the near future. Happy collecting! (Btw the album that's covered by my light is thriller by Micheal Jackson)
